“I will make you some food, this spell can wait right?” Elvis asked Jade who nodded.

“Where is the kitchen?” he asked Tia who smiled and then led the way.

“I like him,” Addison said with a smile.

“I am here,” Felix pointed out and she just shrugged as they left.

“He is pretty cool isn’t he?” Nick asked and I didn’t say anything.

Everyone left, only leaving me and my Mom.

“What do you think of him?” she asked me and I smiled.

“I like him,” I answered and her eyes widened as she looked at me.

“You do?” she asked me and I nodded.

“What about you?” I asked her and she just shrugged.

“If you like him then I guess he is okay,” she answered and I nodded.

I went up to Jade’s room and found her mediating.

“What are you doing?” I asked her and she opened her eyes to look at me.

“I am preparing for the spell. This is an important spell, I need to make sure that my magic will flow correctly,” she answered.

“Okay, I will leave you to it,” I said and then left and went to Sasha’s room.

I found her on her phone and she was busy doing something.

“Aren’t you going to prepare for the spell?” I asked her and she shook her head.

“Why would I? I know the spell’s words, all I need to do is chant them,” she answered me.

Wait, one needs to focus and the other is just here relaxing.

Why is that?

Jade usually knows what she is talking about.

Even this spell was her idea and she spent the whole night modifying it.

But she is busy preparing for it and Sasha who doesn’t know the spell is relaxing.

She didn’t know the spell existed until today.

Am I missing something here?

After some time, Chef Elvis was done cooking and everyone sat down to have dinner.

I looked at Jade who was happily eating the food he made.

“Have this, it’s vegetable soup,” he said to Jade who frowned.

“Come on, it’s really good,” he said and she nodded.

She took a sip and then ate some more and I smiled seeing her like that.

After dinner, they started getting ready for the spell.

They put him in the middle of the circle and then started chanting the spell.

When they were done, I noticed how Sasha got up first and then smiled.

“We are done,” she said but I noticed that Jade was still sitting there and looking down. Is

everything okay?

“Are sure it will work?” Elvis asked but his eyes were on Jade.

“Yes, it will work just fine,” Sasha answered him.

He didn’t even spare her a glance, does he hate her?

He did call her selfish and doesn’t seem to like her at all.

Jade got up and Addison quickly ran to her side.

“I need to talk to you, good night everyone,” she said and Jade looked at Elvis.

“Goodnight,” she said and they walked away.

I looked at Jade, something seemed off with her today.

Just after the spell, she seemed to be hiding something from me.

But what could she be hiding?

She won’t be sleeping here tonight as well.

I thought that she had forgiven me by now.

But then why is she sleeping with Addison even today?

I tried going to sleep but I couldn’t sleep.

I just had this sinking feeling and I couldn’t understand what was wrong.

I caught Sasha’s scent and a few seconds later she knocked on the door.

She smiled as she looked at me.

“Want to come to our room? I mean what’s the point of sleeping here alone?” she asked me.

“I am fine here. But I have something to ask you, are you and Jade hiding something from me?” I

asked her.

She looked at me confused like she didn’t understand what I was asking

Her heart was beating normally which means that she isn’t hiding anything or is very good at

lying.

“No, what could we be hiding?” she asked me and I nodded.

“No, I am sleeping here,” I answered and she then walked off.

She didn’t insist and left the room as if she was running away from something.

“Where is Jade?” Elvis asked and Addison just smiled.

“She is tired, spells like that one can take a toll on the body,” Addison answered.

“You also don’t seem well yourself, you look like you hardly slept, Tia said.

“Oh yes, that is also another reason why she is still sleeping,” Addison said.

Are they hiding something?

Why can’t I get rid of this feeling like they are hiding something?

“I am here,” Jade suddenly said and I looked at her.

Her face was pale and she was wearing a sweater.

“Are you okay? You look terrible,” Mom said and she just shrugged.

“I am fine, I think I am just catching a cold,” she answered.

Addison said that she was tired because of the spell and because they hardly slept.

And now Jade is saying that she is catching a cold.

They are lying but why?

What the hell is going on here?

“Should we stay? I can make you some chicken noodle soup,” Elvis said and Jade smiled.

“I would love that, but you need to go to work. You need to get your affairs in order,” she answered.

“Okay, be well okay,” he said and we said our goodbyes to them as they left.

Everyone sat down for breakfast and I noticed how Jade wasn’t touching her food.

“Wow, you did really good with the spell Sasha,” Vanessa suddenly said.

“Really? I didn’t do much and it was all for Tia,” Sasha answered.

“No, don’t be so modest. You are genuinely amazing,” Vanessa added.

“Yes, I must say that you are really amazing,” Addison suddenly said and all eyes turned on her.

Did she just compliment Sasha?

“I mean you did such a hard spell and yet you are still standing. You look amazing at that,” she said

and I frowned at this.

“From my experience, a hard spell like this can take a toll on the human body. How do you do it?”

she asked Sasha.

“She is a powerful witch. You can’t measure her to other people’s standards,” Vanessa answered

for her friend.

“But if she is so powerful, why wasn’t she made the coven leader?” Olivia suddenly asked.

All eyes turned to her, she hadn’t been joining us a lot since Felix found his mate.

“I mean I am genuinely curious. First, they made your younger sister the Coven leader and then they made your younger brother. If you are so good, why were you skipped?” she asked again.

“Because some people sabotaged her,” Vanessa answered as she glared at her.

“Oh please, did you just say sabotaged her?” Addison asked her.

“Enough you two, my brother and younger sister have more magic than I do. That is why,” Sasha

answered Olivia.

“But it is your birthright,” Ellie said.

“Yes, you are the oldest. You should have been the coven leader, the leader is usually not the strongest,” Billie said in support of his twin sister.

“No, it’s okay. Jade and Jay also deserve it as well,” Sasha said and Addison scoffed.

“Just stop pretending, do you really think I can’t see what you are doing?” she asked.

“What is your problem? Why are you after me?” Sasha asked.

I just sat back and watched because I wanted to understand what was wrong.

“My problem is that you like acting like the victim,” Sasha answered.

“And how did she do that? All she said was that her younger siblings also deserve it,” Piers said.

“It isn’t what she is saying but how she is saying it,” Addison said.

“Stop talking,” Jade said and Addison looked at her and shook her head.

“Why not tell them about the things you made Jade do? How you used her and are still doing it?”

Addison asked.

“ENOUGH,” Jade said firmly. Addison banged her hands on the table and stood up.

“You are right, enough of all of this. Why don’t you tell them that you made a 10-year-old perform spells for you and you took the credit for it? Why don’t you tell them that Jade is the one performing the spells and all you do is take the credit for it?” Addison asked.

“Addison, stop talking right now,” Jade said.

“No, she is busy acting like she is the hero and you are the villain, Can’t you see it?” she asked Jade.

“Sit down,” Jade said firmly and Addison looked at her.

“You were in pain all night long because of that spell. And yet here she is taking the credit for it when she did nothing but just sit there,” Addison said with tears in her eyes.

I looked at Jade, she was pale and seemed to be in pain all night.

Is this what she was hiding?

They have been deceiving us all this time, but why?
