“Alpha, are you listening?” Felix asked me and I turned to look at him.

“Yes, I am listening,” I answered but they both looked at me.

“It’s either we got sexier in the last few minutes or you are thinking of someone else,” Piers said

and I looked at him confused.

“You have been distracted and you keep biting your lower lip,” Felix pointed out.

“Let’s not forget the part where you are grinning like a complete fool,” Piers added.

Yes, Jade has been on my mind ever since she left the office.

That little vixen, I don’t know why but I can’t seem to stop thinking about her.

This is worse, it’s worse than that time a few months ago.

Back then, I couldn’t get her out of my mind but it wasn’t this bad.

It is as if I am addicted to her mere presence.

“You seem happy, I haven’t seen you like this in a long time,” Felix said and I looked at him.

“But?” I asked him and he sighed.

“She is going to leave, she isn’t here to stay for long,” he reminded me.

“Not to forget that she is your mate’s younger sister, she is your sister-in-law,” Piers added.

I looked at them and then sighed.

“Jade and I are husband and wife. And she won’t be going anyway, I won’t let her,” I declared and

they all looked at me confused.

“What will your mate say about this?” Piers asked me.

“I am an Alpha, no one can tell me what to do. And it’s not wrong to want my wife to stay with me,”

I said and they looked at each other.

“Okay, but what about Jade? My mate tells me that Jade loves her siblings so much she would do anything for them. What makes you think that she will choose to stay?” Felix asked me and I sighed

at this.

He is right, I have seen her love for them.

“There is a solution,” Piers suddenly spoke up and I looked at him intrigued.

“A solution, I am listening. What is this great solution of yours?” I asked him.

“Well, you could get Jade to love you more than she loves her siblings,” he answered and I smiled

at his answer.

“It won’t be that easy. First, Jade feels like she was made into some sacrificial lamb. This deal isn’t

ideal for her and she sees it as nothing but a deal,” Felix said spoiling the mood.

“Do you have to be so negative?” I asked him and he just shrugged.

“I am being realistic, we can’t all afford to be hopeless romantics,” Felix answered and looked at

Piers.

“Maybe you should start being a hopeless romantic, your mate has given you a year to win her

love. How are you going to do that?” Piers retorted.

“I have no idea, I am clueless on how to impress her. She doesn’t care about the diamond necklaces I give her. Nothing I do for her works,” Felix explained and then sighed.

“After what you did to Olivia, all she sees when she looks at you is a scumbag,” Piers added rubbing

salt to his wounds.

“I can help you with that,” I said and they both looked at me.

“I could get Jade to tell me what you need to do to win her over,” I said and Felix smiled at this.

“You could do that for me?” he asked me and I nodded.

“What is the catch?” Piers suddenly said and I just shrugged.

“Nothing, there is no catch,” I responded but they didn’t believe me.

“Fine, I really want to see her now,” I answered them.

“But we have so much work, I don’t think we can do it without you,” Piers said and I just shrugged.

“You two are the best in this pack. My left and right hand, there is nothing you can’t do,” I said and

watched how they both frowned.

“That is just weird dude,” Piers said and Felix nodded at this.

“Just go, I would rather do all this work alone than listen to whatever that was,” Felix added.

I got up and then smiled as I looked at them.

“I love you guys so much,” I said and tried to hug them but they moved away laughing.

“Just stop it, leave already,” Piers said and I walked out with a smile on my face.

“You look really happy,” Sasha suddenly said.

I looked at her and she already had tears in her eyes.

“Are you really not going to forgive me? I made a mistake,” she said and I sighed.

“Fine, I forgive you but no more secrets and lies,” I said and she nodded with a smile.

“I promise, I won’t be doing that anymore. Thank you so much,” she said and threw her hands

around me.

I tried to wrap my hands around her and hug her back but I couldn’t.

Touching her suddenly felt wrong and her touch felt wrong.

She pulled away and looked at me with a smile.

“I promise, I am going to make you dinner tonight. I will make everything you love,” she said and

walked off with a smile.

Why doesn’t her smile warm up my heart?

This woman is my mate then why don’t I feel that deep connection with her?

At first, I always thought that it was because she was a witch and not a werewolf.

I never felt that strong connection with her at all.

Felix is constantly whinin

about his mate and how he wants to be close to her.

He is always complaining that sometimes she doesn’t want to sleep in the same room as him.

Hell, the nights she slept with Jade because Jade and I were fighting he didn’t give me a little

peace.

He complained about it almost all day and I didn’t like it.

I have been sleeping separately from my mate for weeks now and I feel nothing.

But those nights when I was away from Jade I couldn’t sleep even a bit.

Jay has already checked me and he is sure that I am not bewitched.

Then what else could explain how I feel about Jade?

What else could explain this obsession I have with her?

If it is not the mate bond, then what the f**k is it?
