Chapter 62: Unhealthy

Dante’s pov

I walked into Jade’s office and she looked up at me with a smile.

“You are here,” she said and I nodded as I walked in.

“Didn’t you have important work to do?” she asked me and I just shrugged.

“There is nothing more important than you, plus I had to bring back something that belongs to you,

“I answered and she looked at me.

I took out her panties from my pocket and watched how she giggled.

“I was looking for those,” she said and then walked to my side.

“You do know that it is not the only reason I am here right?” I asked her and she rolled her eyes.

“Then what else brings you here?” she asked me and I smiled.

“Well, I missed you,” I answered and pulled her into my arms.

“I am working,” she said and I nodded as I sat down on the chair and pulled her to sit on top of me.

“I won’t say a word, it would be like I am not here,” I said and she just looked at me.

“For some reason, I don’t believe that,” she retorted and I just shrugged.

She took a look at her documents and continued working while I was just brushing her hair.

I came all this way just so I could brush her hair.

I liked seeing how she would frown as she looked at something.

How she bit her lower lip when deep in thought.

How she would place her pencil on her hair and then forget it was there and looks around for it.

This is what I wanted to do, hell now that I think about it I think I can do the same as well.

“Bring me some documents to Jade’s office, I will work from here,” I mind linked Felix.

He knocked on the door a few minutes later and I told him to come in.

His eyes landed on me and Jade.

She was still so busy with her work that she didn’t seem to pay any attention to him.

I could see the negativity in Felix’s eyes as he was looking at us.

Come on, is it such a bad thing that I want to be around her all the time?

It’s not like it’s a crime or anything.

He handed me the documents and then left the office.

“Come on, let’s move to the couch,” I said to Jade who got up without a word.

Her eyes never leaving the documents she was holding as she walked there.

She sat down and I sat down next to her and rested her head on my shoulder.

I did some work and she also finished up her work as well.

I thought that we wouldn’t be able to work together at all and we would only distract each other.

But now that I think about it, we work really well together.

“I will have some of my documents sent to your office. I will be working there from now on,” I

informed Jade who looked at me confused.

“What did you just say? You are moving into my office?” she asked me and I nodded.

“And why is that?” she asked me and I just shrugged.

“I liked working next to you,” I said and she sighed.

“Today you worked next to me because by the time you got here, I was done with my rounds. And

it is my workplace, you can’t move into my workplace,” she said and I frowned.

“I can, no one will dare to defy my orders,” I retorted.

“Okay, you can but I don’t want you to. Look, we sleep in the same room on the same bed. We can’t

be around each other 24/7,” she pointed out.

“Why not?” I asked her and watched as she sighed to this.

“Because it’s not healthy,” she answered.

“I don’t care,” I answered and watched how her eyes

widened.

“You are an Alpha, when people need you they need to find you in your office,” she pointed out.

She is correct on that part, people need to know where they can find me.

“How about this? You can come here and work for an hour with me. Possibly the last hour of the day, then we can walk home together like we are now,” Jade offered.

“I can touch you however I want?” I asked her and she smiled but nodded.

“Yes, the last hour of the day is when I am least productive. I think your touches could help rejuvenate me,” she answered with a wink.

I smiled and found myself reaching out for her hand so we could walk together home.

She suddenly stopped and I stopped as well to see what was wrong.

But she was looking at the sunset and smiled at this.

“The shade of orange, it reminds me of Onyx,” she said with a smile.

I felt it as Onyx did a little dance because she thought about him.

Just as we were about to enter the pack mansion Sasha suddenly showed up.

Her eyes landed on our entwined hands and she reached for my hand.

“Sister, is it okay if I steal my mate for a second?” she asked Jade who nodded.

Jade let go of my hand and she smiled as she walked off.

“I have a surprise for you. It’s been so long since we spent some time alone,” Sasha said as she dragged me to our room.

When I got there, the room was decorated with red roses and candles.

“I thought we could use this time to try and ignite the spark between us. I honestly missed you. Do you remember when we first found out we were mates? How happy the both of us were, I want us to go back to that,” she said and took off her dress.

I looked at her, I looked at the lacy lingerie she was wearing and she looked beautiful.

But just looking at her felt wrong.

Looking at my own mate, a woman who I couldn’t get my hands off a few months

ago

feels wrong.

“Alpha, we have a big problem. Stephen is here,” Felix said through the mind link.

I guess this is my saved-by-the-bell moment.

“Can we do this another time? There seems to be a major problem. Stephen is back, I need to look

into it right away,” I said and basically ran out of the room.

On my way, I touched the pair of panties that were in my jacket pocket.

Jade, you have bewitched me, haven’t you?

Just the thought of touching my own mate makes me feel like I am cheating on you.

How is that even possible?

< Chapter 62: Unhealthy

Even now, I should be worried that Stephen is back but I am more concerned about this.

You are what is on my mind even at a time like this.

Were you right?

Is this really unhealthy?
