Chapter 79: Cardio
Dante’s pov
“How about a drink son?” Dad asked me and I looked at Jade.
The kids were both sleeping and I watched as she got up and took the younger one.
“I will help you to your room,” Jade said and Taylor nodded.
She picked up the boy and then looked at me with a smile.
“It was great seeing you again Dante,” she said and then walked off.
“We never got to have a drink together,” Dad said.
“Well, it isn’t my fault,” I pointed out and he nodded.

“But it is mine. Now, let me rectify my mistake, and let’s have a drink,” he said as we headed to the
bar.
We ordered our drinks and then sat there in silence.
“Your wife, she seems like a really great person,” he said and I nodded.
“I always hoped that you would one day understand why I did what I did. But I never wanted you to find yourself in my situation,” he added.
I looked at him confused.
“What situation? What are you talking about?” I asked him.
“I mean you, Jade, and your mate,” he answered but I still couldn’t understand.
“Dante, it is impossible for one man to love two women,” he suddenly said and I sighed.
“It’s not like that,” I replied and he looked at me confused.
“How is it like? Who do you love?” he asked me and I frowned as I looked at him.
“Stop trying to act like you and I are alike. We are not alike, you left your family for that woman,” I
retorted.
“You are right, but what else could I have done? Stayed? I should have suppressed my feelings and
stayed. This would have made everyone even more unhappy,” he tried to explain.
“How? Your leaving didn’t make anyone happy except for you and that woman,” I pointed out.
“Yes, but if I had stayed then your mother would have been miserable. I would have been

miserable, in situations like this son. Someone always gets hurt,” he advised and I shook my head.
“Not in mine, no one will get hurt here,” I said and he nodded.
“Who is it? Between the two of them, which one do you feel guilty for touching?” he asked me.
Wait, how did he know that?
“Which one do you constantly want to be around? If you were put on the spot, if you had to save
one, which one would it be?” he asked me.
When I didn’t answer he sighed and then sipped on his whiskey.
“You had answers to all those questions, didn’t you? Someone always gets hurt,” he added.
I just sat there and continued drinking but his words kept haunting me.
I have been thinking about him and wishing to see him for days now.
I was hoping that he would help me understand what was happening.
I looked at the old man, my father had changed a bit now.
How does he do that?
One hour with me and he was able to answer the question I had been asking myself for days.
The answer is Jade, she is the one I constantly want to be around and I would save her in a
heartbeat.
But she isn’t my mate, Sasha is my mate.
I looked at my father, is this what he went through too?
Was he also consumed by these feelings as well?
I was willing to stop being Alpha when we found out about Sasha’s issues.
I was willing to do it out of duty and to support my mate.
But Jade, for Jade I would have done the same thing my father did.
I would leave my family, I would leave everything behind for her.
Ever since she came here, I have been battling with myself.
Battling with these emotions I feel, I hated the fact that I wanted her.
When I accepted that fact, I started hating that I wanted to always be around her.
I knew it, I knew it the moment I married her that I would never let her go.

And if I can’t let Jade go, then it means I will never be able to touch Sasha.
It is just as Dad said, someone always gets hurts.
It’s a little ironic isn’t it?
For the longest time I hated him and resented him for leaving us.
But now here I am, in the same situation as him.
A few weeks ago I hated the idea of being compared to him more than anything.
And now here I am, sitting and having a glass of whiskey with him and I understand him.
Yes people were hurt, I know my actions and feelings will hurt Sasha but I don’t care.
“Shall we go, dear husband?” Jade suddenly asked and I smiled as I looked at her.
“Yes,” I answered and looked at Dad and smiled.

“Thank you, Dad,” I said and watched how his eyes widened as he looked at me and he nodded.
“I hope you will find a solution that I couldn’t find,” he said and I nodded and walked off.
“That didn’t take long,” Jade commented and I looked at her.
“Let’s go to the cabin,” I said and she looked at me confused.
“I drank a little so you will drive, what do you say?” he asked me.
“Okay, let’s go to the cabin,” she answered.
We went to our hotel room and packed our stuff and then got ready to go.
We arrived at the cabin at around 9pm and then went inside.
It was cleaned and stocked with food.
“It’s so cold in here,” Jade said and I looked around to see if there was a heater.
“We have a problem,” I said and Jade looked at me confused.
“The heater is broken,” I informed her, and she looked at me.
“But I will build a fire,” I said and she nodded.
I made a fire and pulled the couch a little closer to the couch.
Jade sighed as she looked at me, she seemed annoyed.
“What is wrong?” I asked her and she just shrugged.

“It will be warm soon enough, come on, go and get changed” I said and the nodded,
I watched as she walked to the bathroom and then came out a few minutes later
I looked at her, I watched how she blushed at this
“Gosh, pink looks good on you” I said and she smiled,
I drank up the beautiful view in front of me.
Silk, I always knew it was a sexy fabric but damn she pulls it off like no one ever could,
I regained my composure when she started shivering and I opened the blankets.
“Come in,” I said and she ran to me and snuggled closer
“How did I look?” she asked me and I smiled as I kissed her
“Beautiful,” I said in between the Kisses and she looked at me.
I pulled her even closer and she smiled as she buried her face on my chest.
“You are so warm,” she said and I wrapped my hands around her.
“I could take off my shirt, I bet it would be even warmer I suggested and she chuckled and then
nodded.
“You know I heard that cardio also tends to keep people warm,” she said and I nodded.
“That is true,” I said and frowned when she chuckled.
“Want to do some cardio with me?” she asked me and I looked at her confused.
“You want to work out right now?” I asked her and she smiled at this.
“Dante, I am trying to tell you that I want you to f**k me” she blurted out.
I looked at her and her eyes never left mine.
“I am ready Dante, I want you” she added.
Oh f**k, did I hear that correctly?
