Chapter 117 Grew Increasingly Irritable

Jasper said gently to calm her, “Stella, please stop crying. I know exactly who you are. I will never believe the lies of these two strangers…”
“Jasper,” Stella cut him off, twisting the blame onto Margaret without hesitation. “These men were sent by Margaret. We wronged her earlier, and she holds bitter resentment in her heart. It makes sense she would stage this whole incident to get back at us. I only hope hurting us eases her anger.”
The two captive men thrashed wildly against their restraints on the ground.
One man snarled fiercely, “Let us go! We will kill this wicked woman!”
“Release us if you dare!” the other shouted. “You paid us to do your dirty work, yet you lack the courage to face the consequences. You ordered us to push your sister off the cliff. You knew she was no ordinary girl, yet you hired far too few men. You are foolish and cruel beyond words.”
“We will end you!” the first one roared. “Your death will break this poison’s hold over us. Only killing you will earn us the antidote.”
The two men hurled nonstop insults and threats, their faces twisted with rage. They looked ready to lunge at Stella the second the guards let their guard down.
Stella’s face turned deathly pale, whether from fear or panic. “This is complete nonsense. I am the daughter of the Prime Minister. I would never hire street thugs to harm anyone in public. That woman is my own sister. If you mean to slander me, at least invent a believable lie.”
Tears streamed down her cheeks as she turned to Jasper with a helpless, wounded look. “Jasper, how can they spread such terrible rumors about me? They claim I paid them to kill Margaret–does that sound even remotely plausible? I am certain they were sent by someone with ill will to ruin my reputation. Who would be so cruel as to scheme against me like this?”
Stella put on a heartbroken, pitiful display.
The two men continued their furious shouting, filling the courtyard with loud chaos.
Nadia stepped forward, her face dark with anger. “The answer is obvious. Ms. Campbell is behind all of this. You are far too kind, Ms. Stella Campbell, and she takes advantage of your gentle nature at every
turn.”
She turned to Jasper and said urgently, “Mr. Jasper Campbell, these men appeared out of nowhere, and their story is full of holes. Ms. Stella Campbell would never hire assassins to harm her own sister. They are clearly making everything up.
“They keep claiming Ms. Campbell poisoned them and that killing Ms. Stella Campbell is the only way to get the cure. The truth could not be clearer. Ms. Campbell hired these men and staged this whole attack. Ms. Stella Campbell is the one who suffered a brutal beating, yet Ms. Campbell twists things to make herself look like the victim. You must give Ms. Stella Campbell justice.”
Jasper’s head spun with confusion and frustration as he listened to Nadia’s accusations and watched Stella’s endless crying.

“Enough, Stella.” He spoke sharply to quiet her. “I know your character, and I will never believe these men’s false words. You have no need to grieve over this.”
He shot a harsh glare at the men on the ground and barked out an order. “Drag them away.”
Amid loud shouting and desperate struggles, the two men were dragged off toward the dungeon.
As the crowd’s attention shifted away, Stella shot Nadia a cold, sharp stare. The dark look in her eyes carried a clear, silent order–leave no survivors.
Nadia gave a subtle nod to show she understood, then turned back to Jasper. “Mr. Jasper Campbell, you must make sure Ms. Stella Campbell gets the justice she deserves.”
Stella whimpered softly to keep up her act. “Nadia, please, say no more…
Nadia wore the loyal servant’s earnest expression and pressed her point. “You have endured far too much unfair treatment, Ms. Stella Campbell. You were beaten and injured today, yet these criminals lie and claim you hired them. Their story makes no sense at all. If they truly took your gold, they would never attack you. Their threats about the poison must be the only truth in their words.”
Jasper grew increasingly irritable with the whole mess.
Stella kept weaving her false narrative through quiet sobs. “Why would Margaret slander me like this? She already hurt me today. Why would she go further to ruin my name?”
She looked up at Jasper with tearful eyes. “Is it truly because we misunderstood her? Does she hate me for taking credit that belonged to her? I know I am to blame, and I do not hold her anger against me.”
A deep, authoritative voice suddenly cut through the noise. “What has caused such a loud commotion here?”
Everyone turned to see a tall, imposing man striding into the courtyard,
He wore dark formal robes, with streaks of gray in his hair and lines of weariness etched across his face. His tall frame still held powerful, noble authority–this was Timothy, the Prime Minister.
