Chapter 216 No Trouble at All
Shawn turned pale with fright. “Prince Theodore…”
Theodore said, “Anyone who dares plead for him will be dragged away to punishment as well.”
At his cold command, Ryan was dragged off wailing and screaming.
Shawn bowed hastily before hurrying after them in a panic.
After this sudden uproar, the entire banquet fell into dead silence.
Theodore shot Norma a meaningful glance. “What were you saying just now, Norma? I was busy uncovering the real culprit and didn’t catch your words.”

Norma forced an awkward smile. “It is enough that the truth has come to light. I was misled for a moment as well.”
“You are the Queen of the realm,” Theodore said coolly. “Being so easily deceived by others does not bode well
He then took Margaret’s hand. “Come, let us go rest.”
Margaret nodded absently and followed him toward the exit.
Just then, a woman’s voice rang out suddenly. “Queen Norma’s words are not entirely without grounds.. After all, Ms. Campbell truly has little skill with the lute. It was only inevitable she would be misunderstood by everyone.”
It was clear the woman was speaking up for Norma, and Norma’s expression softened slightly.
Margaret halted in her steps. “What makes you so certain I cannot play the lute?”
She had stayed silent when the talk was not directed at her, but now that the woman had deliberately singled her out, she would not hold her tongue.
Margaret turned back slowly. “Do you know how to dance Ethereal Dream? Would you care to take the stage? I shall play the accompaniment for you.” ·
The woman had been staring at Margaret with undisguised provocation this whole time, impossible to ignore.
Margaret had also noticed Ryan glancing repeatedly at this woman as he was dragged away–there was no way the two were not in collusion.
With the woman’s malice plain on her face, Margaret had no intention of backing down.
The woman rose slowly to her feet with a faint smile, “I have never learned such delicate feminine dances. As the daughter of a military general, I do not waste time on such trivial arts. Do not mock me, Ms. Campbell.”
A general’s daughter?

Finished
Margaret glanced around, seeing many men in military uniform nearby.
Her gaze then fell to Theodore.
Could this be Myrna, the eldest daughter of General Hickman–the one everyone says is Theodore’s childhood sweetheart and intended bride?
A faint twinge of sourness stirred in Margaret’s heart unbidden.
Myrna went on calmly, “Though I cannot dance such soft, graceful routines, I am skilled in sword dancing. I created my own sword form that matches the melody of Ethereal Dream perfectly. If you are willing to play the lute for me, I would gladly perform as a birthday tribute to Queen Norma.”
With that, she leaped lightly onto the stage using her lightness skill, looking every inch the heroic female
warrior.
Her features were not breathtakingly beautiful, yet fresh and refined in their own right.
Her long hair was tied neatly back, and a maid stepped forward at once to hand her a gleaming sword.
She drew the blade smoothly, then pointed it toward Margaret. “What say you, Ms. Campbell?”
Margaret smiled faintly, “Playing accompaniment is no trouble at all.”
She let go of Theodore’s hand and walked slowly back to the lute.
Myrna smiled faintly, “Sword dancing is far different from ordinary dance. The sword carries immense power, so I hope your lute playing can match its strength–only then can music and sword become one. I wonder how proficient you truly are at playing?”
The banquet buzzed with lively whispers.
“Ms. Campbell is bold indeed to play for Ms. Hickman. Her swordsmanship is among the finest of all noble ladies.”
“Everyone knows she has no musical talent. She was reckless to agree to play Ethereal Dream before, and now she dares to accompany Ms. Hickman, too.”
“It seems both young ladies of the Prime Minister’s Estate are destined to embarrass themselves today.”
“This entertainment grows more intriguing by the moment…”
Norma smiled and nodded in delight, “A sword dance from you personally? I am truly fortunate to witness such a rare performance today.”
“I am honored by your praise to dare perform,” Myrna replied modestly. “Forgive me if I disappoint the
