Chapter 30 Acting Out for Days
When Thalia left with Tyren, Alden’s expression turned so gloomy that there was practically a dark cloud over his head.
Kiera comforted him, “Tyren is just some poor orphan the Marquettes took in. He’s only good at running his mouth and pretending to be tough in public. Don’t let him get under your skin.
“As for Thalia, she only dares to act so audaciously because she’s the Crestfall family’s daughter–in–law. She knows you’ll do whatever she wants for the sake of the family’s reputation.”
“If she wants my help, she can forget it!” Alden glanced toward the red silhouette in the corner, finding the sight unbearable.
In the past, no matter how much of a fuss Thalia made, she’d always back down within 30 minutes. But this time, she’d been acting out for days with no signs of stopping. And now, she’d even dared to bring Tyren to the auction, pretending to act like they belonged here.
Alden couldn’t wait to see how the two of them planned to save their dignity without his help.
30 minutes later, the auction was about to begin. Thalia and Tyren took seats in the front row, right in front of Alden and
Kiera.
At Sotheby’s auction, seating was assigned based on social status. The Crestfall family was a major name in Yebaku City. Their business had expanded massively in recent years, branching not only across the country but also overseas.
The scale of their business wasn’t huge, but their reputation was firmly established. To date, Alden was worth several billion dollars, undeniably one of the city’s elites. Hence, his seat was in front.
The Marquette family had long since fallen behind. Even though Marquette Group still existed, it was barely hanging on. They had no place in the front row.
Before taking his seat, Alden muttered under his breath, “The Marquettes are getting bolder with their tricks. They even managed to secure front–row seats. Whatever. Later, when they’re unable to buy a single item, they’ll never be able to survive in Yebaku City again.”
He then leaned forward and said, “Thalia, it’s not too late. Leave now before you embarrass yourself.”
The only reason Thalia dared to pull stunts like this was that she knew she had Alden as her husband. Even if he refused to help, she’d just run to Henrietta, crying until she forced his hand.
Josephine was right. They had spoiled Thalia far too much, and now, she was completely out of control. If he didn’t put her in her place soon, she really might end up walking all over him.
Kiera chimed in, “Lia, I’ll ask Aldy to bid on a few pieces of jewelry for you later. Stop being mad at him, alright? Pulling tricks like this is unacceptable. If they discover you used a fake invitation, it won’t just disgrace the Marquette family. It’ll drag the Crestfalls down, too.”
Her tone wasn’t loud, but clear enough for nearby guests to hear. In an instant, the people around them all turned to look at Thalia and Tyren. But the next second, their expressions shifted. Some even looked like they were about to stand.
Tyren gave a small, subtle signal. The guests didn’t quite understand it, but they sat back down and nodded at him politely.
Kiera was waiting for Thalia’s downfall. But after a long moment, nothing happened. She scanned the room uneasily. The entire auction hall was quiet. No one was even looking at Thalia and Tyren.
What was going on? Had no one heard her?
Just as Kiera prepared to stir things up again, an incredibly handsome man sat down right next to Thalia. He even smiled at her.
Kiera’s face fell to the floor! The center seats were said to be reserved only for true titans worth over a hundred billion
