Dominic stared at Melanie’s retreating figure and said faintly, “…Yeah, you’re right.”
Today’s grand opening was crucial for the Hale Health Center.
He didn’t want any more complications.
Whenever Melanie was around, something always seemed to go wrong.
Either she was being humiliated, or she was humiliating someone else.
Dominic rubbed his forehead and shook his head.
That was the one thing about Melanie he disliked… she was unruly.
Just then, Evelyn appeared at his side and handed him a glass of champagne.
Dominic took the glass.
Looking through the crystal-clear flute, he thought Evelyn had become more beautiful.
She was already dressed to the nines today, and her thoughtful gesture now completely won him over.
Evelyn smiled shyly and raised her glass to toast with Dominic.
Then, the two of them walked through the store arm-in-arm, looking less like siblings and more like a married couple.
Spencer pulled out his phone, tempted several times to send a text to Gabriel.
Before coming to the Hale Group’s grand opening, he had been repeatedly warned by Gabriel to look after Melanie.
Spencer knew Melanie was Dominic’s wife.
But he also knew that both of the Whitmore brothers held Melanie in high regard.
Especially Preston.
As the head of the Halevy Group, Spencer was used to others trying to curry favor with him.
But there was one person he had to curry favor with.
That person was Preston.
Preston was the one man he absolutely could not and would not offend.
Melanie had left after having wine spilled on her, and he felt he should report this to Gabriel.
But if he did, it would look like he had failed to protect her.
While Dominic was about to go after Melanie, she had secretly taken out her phone and contacted someone.
Since Melanie was so “dedicated” that she would change clothes just to return to the celebration, Evelyn decided she would help her achieve the fame she seemed to crave.
A fleeting, vicious smile crossed Evelyn’s face.
The atmosphere in the store was excellent. Although the clients were all gathered around Melanie, it was far better than the store being deserted.
Dominic still felt a sense of relief.
“What is this garbage? How dare you try to fool us with this? Do you think we’ve never seen the world?” a female guest suddenly shouted.
Dominic immediately walked over and asked humbly, “Ma’am, is there a problem with our product?”
“A huge problem,” the woman said, weighing the spray bottle in her hand.
“Isn’t this just a breath freshener? You’re selling it for over a thousand dollars. Is the Hale Health Center trying to rob us, or do you just think we’re a bunch of fools?”
Before Dominic could respond, Evelyn quietly approached him and whispered in his ear, “That woman… is Fiona Marcelline, the daughter of the director of Novarison Pharmaceuticals Plant.”
Novarison Pharmaceuticals Plant was fairly well-known in the industry and was notoriously at odds with the Halevy Group.
“Ms. Marcelline, this spray isn’t an ordinary breath freshener. It can effectively prevent oral cancer…”
