She Left, She Thrived, She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 11

Melanie was completely baffled.

Was she being set up on a blind date with the head of Stellaris PharmaTech?

Speaking of the head of Stellaris PharmaTech, the individual was a total mystery to the public.

The public face of the company had always been Vice President Natalie Whitmore. The real president pulling the strings behind the scenes had never shown their face, let alone revealed their name.

As Mr. Vellor described the personal details of Stellaris PharmaTech's general manager, Preston quietly observed Melanie’s expression.

Melanie looked... thoroughly uninterested.

Preston’s brow furrowed.

When the meeting finally ended, Melanie immediately pulled out her phone.

It had vibrated several times during the meeting.

It was a text from Dominic:

[My mom wants us to come over for dinner tonight.]

[Just head straight there after your meeting!]

Tucking her phone away, Melanie was blocked at the door by a tall figure before she could even leave the conference room.

“Mr. Whitmore?”

Melanie’s eyes met Preston’s.

Perhaps it was because his presence was so intense and his expression so cold, but she felt as if his deep-set eyes were glaring at her.

Preston took out his own phone.

“Would you mind if I got your number?”

Compared to his self-introduction earlier, Preston’s tone had softened slightly.

Melanie couldn’t help but wonder if he had actually been nervous around her before.

“Sure!”

Melanie didn’t refuse.

It was always good to have more connections. Even if Preston was just a clerk, he was still an employee of the Luminaria Aesthetic Institute.

Besides, what was the harm in getting a handsome guy’s number?

After they exchanged numbers, Melanie thought Preston would step aside, but he didn't.

“Is there something else, Mr. Whitmore?”

“Do you have plans tonight?”

“Hmm?”

“I’d like to take you to dinner.”

Melanie was taken aback.
