As the daughter of Nathaniel Royce, Melanie was worldly and not easily impressed.
However, the presence of the man next to Mr. Vellor was so intense that it sent an involuntary shiver down her spine.
Though he wore a black suit like Mr. Vellor, the tailoring and fabric were of a much higher quality, lending him an air of elegance and restraint.
The suit should have conveyed a steady, professional image, but it couldn't contain the aggressive edge that radiated from him from head to toe.
Melanie sat down across from Mr. Vellor.
Seeing the man’s face up close, a flash of astonishment crossed Melanie’s eyes.
His features were perfectly sculpted, like something out of a 3D model.
She had always thought Dominic was handsome, but he paled in comparison to this man.
For a fleeting moment, Melanie thought he looked familiar, but she couldn't place him.
Perhaps he just resembled some celebrity.
Their eyes met for a split second, and the man’s deep, cold gaze made Melanie’s heart skip a beat.
Was he… glaring at her?
Melanie quickly averted her gaze and looked at Mr. Vellor.
“Mr. Vellor, hello. Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to give the Hale Group this opportunity.”
As she spoke the pleasantries, Melanie extended her hand to shake Mr. Vellor’s.
A sharp gaze fell on her hand.
Melanie looked at the man who had remained seated, like a statue.
“And this is…?”
Before Mr. Vellor could respond, the man’s thin lips parted slightly.
“I have a desk job.”
Then, as if realizing his self-introduction was too brief, he added, “I handle some business operations.”
Though the man’s eyes were cold and fierce, his voice was surprisingly pleasant—a deep, magnetic tone that was incredibly charming.
