"Evelyn... effective today, you are demoted to Business Development Specialist."

As soon as Melanie said this, the office fell completely silent.

"On what grounds?"

The first person to stand up for Evelyn was Emilia.

Melanie glanced at her as if just noticing her presence, her eyes filled with disdain and indifference.

"On the grounds that I am Ms. Royce."

"You!"

Emilia almost bit her tongue.

But aside from glaring, there was nothing else she could say.

"Oh, and your position is changing as well..."

"Evelyn falsified data, causing the company enormous losses and putting it in crisis. At any other company, she would have been fired and held legally responsible. I only demoted her to a specialist out of consideration for her being your sister. That's already incredibly lenient...
