She Left, She Thrived, She’s Worth Billions novel Chapter 69

“Schrödinger’s Pill?”

“Yes, that’s him! You know about him, Evelyn?”

Evelyn ignored Emilia.

Although she hadn't studied pharmacology, her family had been in the business for years, so she had picked up a few things.

This Schrödinger’s Pill was incredibly mysterious; no one knew his true identity.

However, several major breakthroughs in the pharmaceutical industry had been driven by him.

She had even heard that many government officials and industry titans had formed special teams just to find this pharmacology genius, and they would kill for an introduction.

“Evelyn, if Melanie’s contact can message that genius, so can we! Then we can develop an even more profitable project, and that Melanie won’t be able to act so smug anymore!”

Listening to Emilia’s suggestion, an even bolder idea formed in Evelyn’s mind.

After leaving the Hale Group, Melanie noticed that Dominic wasn't driving back to the office.

“Where are you taking me?” she asked from the back seat.

“To a place I’m sure you’ll love.”

Dominic glanced at Melanie in the rearview mirror.

On the way to the main headquarters and back, Melanie had ridden in his car but had chosen the back seat instead of the passenger seat.

Dominic found it odd, but Melanie had simply said she found the front seat too cramped and the back more spacious.

He clearly remembered, however, that Melanie had always sat in the passenger seat before.

The car drove all the way to Sterling Galleria Department Hall. Melanie asked, puzzled, “Why did you bring me here?”

Dominic parked the car and replied with a smile, “I’ve been wanting to buy you something for a while, but I just couldn’t find the time. You pulled off such a huge project for the company, so it’s only right that I show my appreciation.”

Melanie sneered inwardly as she got out of the car. There was no sense in holding a grudge against a paycheck.

“Is this the boss rewarding a high-performing employee?”

Dominic froze, frowning.

“I’m rewarding my outstanding wife as her husband.”

Dominic said this with such conviction that any onlooker would have praised him as a gentle and considerate husband.
