She Quit Her Family and Found Herself novel Chapter 259

In a matter of moments, the Luna Hall was left with only Sylvie sitting at the piano.

Ironically, just moments before, everyone had been praising and elevating her.

Now, in the blink of an eye, everyone had vanished, and not a single person had remembered her.

It was as if she were nothing more than an entertainer hired to amuse them—and worse, she had completely botched her performance.

Sylvie bit down hard on her lip, a cold fury flashing in her eyes.

She was furious at herself for failing to seize the moment, for making such a stupid, amateur mistake.

But she also knew this wasn't the time to throw a tantrum.

She had been so entirely focused on playing earlier that she had only seen Wade walk in with the group; she hadn't heard a single word they said.

She had no idea why Wade came, nor why he left in such a hurry.

All she had faintly caught after her mistake were the words 'the Match Hall'.

She assumed the entire Jewell family was now heading to this place called the Match Hall.

Taking a deep breath, Sylvie forced her emotions back into check. She closed the lid of the piano, turned around, and hurried toward the Match Hall as well.

...

Meanwhile, on the way to the Match Hall, Wade's pace grew faster and faster. If he hadn't needed to maintain his dignity, he would have broken into a full sprint.

Along the way, the instructor remained in a state of sheer awe.

Leading the path, he enthusiastically recounted the match. "I was just watching Master Marr play against himself. The white pieces were essentially completely dead. Master Marr held a piece for ages, unable to figure out where to place it. Then, this girl just glances at it and instantly finds a way out. A few moves later, the entire dragon of white pieces came back to life!"

Wade listened to the play-by-play, growing more excited by the second. "And then?"

"It turns out she had immediately spotted a hidden flaw in the black pieces' encirclement. Through a series of brilliant sacrifices and shifts, she forcefully tore an opening wide open." The instructor's eyes practically glowed with reverence. "In the end, she beat Master Marr by a half-point advantage."

Swallowing hard, the instructor added, "From taking over a guaranteed-loss board, tearing open a path to survival, to winning by a half-point—she did all of it in under thirty minutes."
