Caspian's breathing was heavy and sharp, his dark eyes instantly locking onto her.
His large hands gripped her shoulders, spinning her around to face him completely. His gaze swept over her in a frantic, intense scan from head to toe.
Hulda's brain short-circuited. She felt like a little ragdoll being effortlessly spun around by him.
Seeing no obvious injuries on her, the dark tension between his brows fractionally eased.
"Are you hurt?" he demanded.
Hulda shook her head, still dazed. "No... I'm fine."
She really was fine, but what was going on with him? Was he actually panicking over her?
"What the hell are you doing?!" Julian's enraged scream shattered the moment. His eyes were murderous, glaring at Caspian's hands firmly planted on Hulda's shoulders. "Take your filthy hands off her!" he roared, charging forward.
He lunged, trying to snatch Hulda away.
Before his hand even grazed her, Caspian casually lifted a leg and kicked him square in the chest.
Julian was already scrawny. Under the force of Caspian's kick, he flew backward like a broken kite, crashing heavily into the dirt yards away.
"Ahhh!" Brenda shrieked, throwing herself toward her son. "Assault! Assault! Is there no law in this country?! He's trying to kill him in broad daylight!"
