She Turned Her Grief Into Wings novel Chapter 62

These files were supposed to be saved for her final defense, but she had no other choice. It was time for a desperate gamble.

Between the endless insults and the attacks on Evegrace, the mob consisted entirely of paid trolls and clueless bystanders—people blindly following the outrage without knowing the truth.

Their main argument attacked her talent, which meant Evegrace simply needed to show the public exactly what that talent looked like.

She compiled all the materials and posted everything directly to the brand's official social media accounts.

She added a caption: *Competition results are decided by people, but every stitch and thread of Evegrace will only be judged by time.*

The public wasn't blind. By laying everything out in the open, she knew those with a genuine eye for design would step up and speak the truth.

After hitting post, Shera didn't look at her phone again.

That afternoon, Zena walked into her office. "Shera, the comments are getting even worse."

Shera rubbed her temples, feeling mostly detached. The overwhelming flood of hate over the past two days had left her completely numb.

Given how things were going, it couldn't possibly sink any lower.

"Have we heard back from the organizing committee?" Shera asked.

"Not yet, but rumor has it that after seeing your post, Galen spoke up in the judges' group chat."

Shera paused, a tense edge to her voice. "What did he say?"

Zena handed over her phone. It displayed a single screenshot of Galen Croft's message in the group chat.

[I judge the clothes, not the connections. This black-and-gold leaf-veined tailored suit is good enough for the finals, even without the sponsor's bonus points.]

Looking at those words, Shera's eyes inexplicably burned with tears.

A master of Galen's caliber was actually defending her.

"I just found a way to make sure Felipa saw your post. The decision to speak out was entirely her own. I don't have the kind of pull to make a retired master stick her neck out for me."

Shera took a deep breath. She hadn't wanted to drag him into this mess, but he had obviously found out anyway.

"Shera, don't sell yourself short. She didn't speak up because of who you are, she did it because of your work. A true master can't stand to watch a rising star get shot down."

Her lips parted, unsure of what to say, until she finally managed, "Thank you."

"Don't thank me. You earned this yourself. And as for Felipa, maybe you should consider reaching out to her."

She asked, "How are things on your end? What's going on?"

Rhys paused before chuckling softly. "Everything's fine. Just wait for me to get back."

Shera hung up and stared at the post for a long time. Thinking about what Rhys had just said, she finally made a decision.
