She Turned Her Grief Into Wings novel Chapter 64

Yet, she knew things weren't that simple. If the person behind this wanted to ruin her, why would they give up so easily?

That afternoon, Yara Yorke stormed into the studio like a hurricane.

"You were right. Helga Sutton and Rosalie Kerr are definitely connected."

Yara shut the office door and lowered her voice. "Rosalie's father used to be the Sutton family's driver. They absolutely know each other."

"So Helga used her to frame me?" Shera asked.

"I checked the IP address of that initial post. It's from Aurelia City, matching Rosalie's exact IP. But there's no hard evidence explicitly linking Helga to it."

"Then why would Rosalie do it? Was she scared I'd get in her way? But... this is only the semifinals. The final results aren't out, rankings aren't set. Why take such a massive risk?"

She suddenly remembered what Caden had told her the other day and looked at Yara.

"Caden mentioned that someone was pulling strings behind the scenes, ensuring a lot of people would be cut in the semifinals. Could Rosalie be the one pulling the strings?"

Yara frowned. "It's entirely possible. Rosalie had a brief moment of fame a few years ago because of her mentor, but her career has flatlined since. She might have done this to buy herself some prestige..."

Shera gripped her pen tightly, running the entire sequence of events through her mind.

She had seen Caden and Helga together at the venue that day. Caden knew about the rigged competition beforehand, which meant Helga was probably the one who told him.

Helga must have planned to frame her the moment she found out about the competition. She got the contestant list and figured out what Rosalie was plotting.

So, she leaked the intel to Caden, knowing he would use his connections to intervene. Meanwhile, she secretly urged Rosalie to file the complaint to ruin Shera's reputation, playing the innocent angel on both sides.

Shera had figured out this "innocent childhood friend" routine back when she was reading trashy romance novels in middle school. After all, when life and death were on the line, he had chosen Helga over her. Why would this be any different?

She wasn't going to subject herself to that kind of humiliation again. Besides, Helga was hardly the only obstacle between her and Caden.

Obsessing over this would only make her look like a clown all over again.

Since they were getting divorced anyway, there was no point in stirring up drama at the finish line.

A man this utterly oblivious was trash. If Helga wanted him that desperately, she could have him.

"So what are you going to do about it?" Yara asked.

Shera tapped her pen lightly on the desk, weighing her options.
