Night fell.

Hilda received a text from Luther.

[Contact me when you've thought it through.]

She read it once and deleted it.

Just as she was about to go to sleep, a small pebble tapped against her window.

Confused, Hilda walked over, pushed the window open, and looked out. Parked right outside the courtyard wall was a black Cullinan. An elegant figure stood in the moonlight. The radiant moonlight couldn't compare to the crisp white shirt he wore. He looked up at her with a bright smile and waved.

It was Harrell.

A few minutes later, Harrell snuck upstairs.

He finally got his wish to lie in Hilda's bed.

She took off his shirt to check his back.

He intentionally let out sharp hisses of pain.

Just to make her feel sorry for him.

The two of them lay side by side in the dark, not doing anything.

He looked at her with bright, clear eyes, couldn't resist intertwining his fingers with hers, and kissed her cheek. Hilda whispered that she wasn't pretty anymore. Harrell gently stroked her face. "You'll bounce right back after the baby is born. And if you don't, we'll sign you up for the most expensive fitness classes. You'll be gorgeous no matter what."

Then he chuckled.

In truth, he didn't care at all.

She was naturally stunning; she could never be anything but beautiful.

He was just going along with what she said.

He had fought tooth and nail for the lucky chance to marry her.

He had forged that crumpled medical report half a year ago.

What did it matter if it was real or fake?

He knew perfectly well that Hilda had some feelings for him. He was incredibly handsome, tall, and nicely toned all over. How could she not like him? Plus, he knew how to make money and could give the kids a great life. That was a man's greatest charm.

Loving her, for a lifetime.

It was bound to be incredibly romantic.

He was getting impatient. "Let's go get the marriage license first thing in the morning."

Just to prevent any unexpected complications.

He had only come over because he couldn't sleep.

Hilda looked into his sparkling eyes and softly hummed in agreement. Then he leaned over and gently kissed the corner of her lips.

She froze for a moment.

Then she kissed him back.
