Jolie Lovell didn't have an invitation.

She had sneaked in with someone else. She watched the man she loved passionately kissing Hilda. She watched him elevate Hilda to the heavens, giving her so much dignity that everyone truly saw her as Mrs. Sanford. If that was the case, what was she, Jolie Lovell?

The venue suddenly fell silent.

Everyone noticed Jolie.

Luther saw her too.

He frowned slightly and ordered, "Zane, take Jolie home."

Zane was about to step forward.

But Jolie took a step back.

She looked at Luther, her face etched with betrayal. "Why? Why elevate her like this? That child isn't even yours! You two never even slept together! She had a bastard with someone else, yet you're claiming the child as your own? Luther, did you ever think about our future? Did you ever think about how I feel?"

The banquet erupted into an uproar.

Wait, the little girl wasn't Luther's?

But she looked so much like him.

Luther's face darkened.

"Jolie, do you have any idea what you're saying?"

...

Normally, Jolie would have been terrified of him.

But today, she didn't care.

She was determined to expose Hilda's promiscuous true colors and let everyone know that the child she bore was just an illegitimate brat. Her fingers trembled as she tapped her phone screen. In seconds, a photo appeared on the main display screen. It showed a young man holding a little girl. The photo was crystal clear—it was unmistakably Annie. Everyone's gaze instinctively snapped to Hilda.

—You really couldn't judge a book by its cover.

A beauty like her had actually made a cuckold out of Luther Sanford.

Jolie's voice shook with agitation—

"Do you see?"

"She had this child with some random blue-collar guy."

"Hilda couldn't handle being lonely. She did filthy things in her own marital home and secretly had a bastard with another man, then tricked Luther into thinking it was his! And Luther just went along with it to comfort his grandmother. I want everyone to see the truth. She isn't a legitimate heiress; she's just a bastard born out of wedlock!"

—Annie really wasn't a Sanford.

Everyone turned to look at Hilda.

They wanted to see her reaction.

Amidst the dead silence, Hilda picked up Annie and spoke softly but firmly: "Annie is Luther's biological daughter. I'm willing to collect DNA samples right here. The results will be out in three days. I assume those questioning me can wait that long? Luther, you wouldn't deny me this chance to prove my innocence, would you?"

Luther's jaw tightened—

Did Hilda even know what she was saying?

They had never slept together.

How could they possibly have produced a child?

Just then, someone in the crowd let out a quiet gasp—

"What blue-collar guy?"

"Isn't that Mr. Sutton's son—Soren Sutton?"
