Just as the suffocating tension in the room reached its peak, a sharp ringtone pierced the silence.
Rowan pulled his phone from his pocket, listened to the urgent news on the other end, and didn't even spare Lyra another glance. "Jasmine was in a car crash?"
He strode out of the room, immediately dialing his household staff. "Zola, Jasmine was in an accident. I need you at Blackwood Manor for the next few days to make her some oatmeal and soup."

Jameson Manor.
A lonely quiet hung in the air of the sprawling estate's grand dining hall. Sitting at the table, Victoria let out a thoughtful sigh. "Rowan intentionally moved Zola over to Blackwood Manor just to handle Jasmine's meals. He's been running himself ragged lately—juggling company affairs while rushing to the hospital every single day to look after her."
She frowned, a murmur of suspicion in her voice. "It's a bit bizarre, isn't it? Why does Jasmine keep getting into these terrible accidents back to back?"
Caspian kept his head lowered in silence, quietly pushing his food around his plate. Only after polishing off his final bite did he slowly lift his head. "Mom, I have to head to campus."
A pang of loneliness struck Victoria. Her youngest son wouldn't be back until Friday afternoon. She waved him off with a soft sigh. "This house just feels emptier and colder by the day. Go on, then. Make sure you hit the books hard."
She then instructed the staff to pack Caspian's clothes and daily essentials.

A few days later, Lyra's condition steadily improved, and she could finally sit propped up against the headboard to eat.
When Maddie and Leo Chavez stepped into the VIP suite, they were met with an incredibly peaceful scene. Rowan was perched on the edge of the bed, holding a thermal bowl. With delicate, gentle movements, he was spoon-feeding Lyra her soup. The atmosphere between them was surprisingly harmonious, completely devoid of their usual toxic hostility.
Leo stared in utter disbelief before letting out a teasing laugh. "James, you're doing the nurses' jobs for them. What are they supposed to do now?"
Rowan's expression remained neutral, offering no reply.
