Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 156

Summer shifted Leo in her arms and turned to leave. She hadn't taken two steps before she heard Xavier say, "She'll buy it."

Summer whipped back around. "Xavier, just a friendly reminder: if you spend a single dime of our marital assets on her, I am well within my rights to sue you for every penny of it back."

Hugh stared at the ceiling, then the floor, then the lawn outside—he looked anywhere but at Summer and Xavier.

This was a billionaire drama he did not want to be a part of.

"I'll buy it," Miles stepped forward. He considered it a form of compensation for Summer, knowing Lily was indirectly responsible for her father's death.

So even if it was a staggering three hundred million dollars.

He was willing to pay it.

Miles stood beside Lily. "I'm her brother, so there shouldn't be an issue if I purchase it, right?"

Nobody was stupid enough to argue with that kind of money. Since Summer was never going to live there again anyway, selling it to him was as good as selling it to a stranger.

Besides, it was a mind-blowing three hundred million dollars.

Summer stated, "No payment plans. I want it in full."

"Done," Miles agreed without hesitation.

Summer turned her head. "Hugh, draw up the contract."

Hugh stood there looking completely dazed. "...Huh?"

Oh my god, he had literally just been staring at the grass, doing absolutely nothing, and he just closed a deal?

A three-hundred-million-dollar deal?

Did that mean his commission was going to be three million dollars?

In the blink of an eye, he had secured a lifetime of financial freedom!

Trembling with excitement, Hugh whipped out his laptop, his fingers flying across the keys so fast they practically sparked, drafting the purchase agreement at record speed.

He double-checked the transaction amount at least five times, terrified he might miss a zero.

Using the mansion's printer, he printed the contracts.

Lily's smile completely morphed into a look of absolute dread.

The smug victory she had felt a second ago was instantly replaced by a deep, repulsive hatred for Summer.

Summer always knew exactly how to ruin her happiest moments!

She desperately wanted to claw Summer's face off, hating the fact that they shared such similar features.

Summer carried Leo and confidently marched toward the door. Xavier quickly signaled the four bodyguards. "Protect the young master."

Though Xavier had agreed to let Summer take Leo to the funeral, the bodyguards were going to shadow his son's every move.

Summer didn't care.

Right at that moment, Lily's phone rang. It was the police department.

"Yes, this is Lily Sutton... Wait, didn't you already finish questioning me? ...What?!"

Hanging up the phone, Lily exploded. "Summer! Stop right there! What the hell did you tell the police?!"
