Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 182

Silas was visibly stunned. He clearly hadn't expected that. Then he remembered how Summer had directly bid over two hundred million dollars just for this tea set.

Leo had told him that was all the money his mother had—the money from selling her house.

Summer was actually willing to drain her entire nest egg just for him.

Silas gently pulled the gift box holding the tea set back toward himself. "Then this one, I will accept. I love it. Thank you."

Summer, Leo, and Franklin all stared at him in utter disbelief.

If memory served correctly, hadn't Silas won that tea set with his own sky-high bid?

He said it as if Summer had actually bought it and handed it to him.

Silas completely ignored their bewildered expressions and pushed the antique jade imperial chess set back toward Summer. "Then please hold onto this one for Leo."

To refuse again would seem ungrateful, but that jade chess set was worth over a hundred million dollars. How was she supposed to ever repay a gift like that?

Maybe, when Leo grew up, she could just tell him to financially support Silas in his old age?

That seemed to be her only option now. Finding a way to return a favor of that magnitude was downright impossible.

Summer accepted the gift box, thanking him repeatedly.

Silas let out a low chuckle. "If anyone should be thanked, it's Leo. It's a gift for him."

Leo clenched his little fists, looking as though he had made a monumental decision. He stared up at Silas with pure earnestness. "Dad Silas, just wait for me. When I grow up, I'm going to make lots and lots of money, just like you, and I'll take care of you."

"Alright, Dad Silas will be waiting." Silas smiled and ruffled the boy's hair. "Do your best. Grow up fast."

On that very day, little Leo made a firm resolution: he was going to study hard, become as brilliant as his Dad Jude, use his big brain to make money, and eventually become a powerful CEO who made millions, just like Dad Silas!

Since Silas planned to wait until Xavier and his group had left the premises, Summer took the items and left first.

For safety's sake, it was best they minimized their contact right now.

That was tens of millions of dollars!

Lily felt a bitter, raging jealousy boiling in her chest. Even though she already had Xavier's love and Miles backing her, she was still insanely jealous of Summer!

She truly believed Summer had only gotten everything because she had undergone plastic surgery to share her face.

All of this should have been hers!

Lily demanded, "Summer, what exactly is your relationship with Silas Sinclair? Why would he give you something so expensive?"

Summer carefully secured the two gift boxes in her car before turning back to Lily. "You really want to micromanage everything, don't you? Why don't you just quit Sterling Group and go be the hall monitor of the universe? You clearly love sticking your nose where it doesn't belong."

"Summer, you know the total value of those two items. You're not family, you're not friends—why would he give them to you? And you actually had the nerve to take them. Aren't you afraid this is a sugar-coated trap?" Her tone and expression practically screamed that Summer was an absolute idiot.

Summer feigned a distressed sigh. "Silas insisted on giving them to me. What was I supposed to do?"

"Hah," Lily sneered. "Summer, you really think Silas Sinclair is just being nice? He's just using you for his own gain."
