Exhausted, Xavier sank onto the sofa, leaning his head back against the cushions. "If it's an accident, then let the police investigate."
Carlson stared at him in sheer disbelief. "Let the police investigate? If word gets out, what will happen to the Sterling family's reputation? Haven't we embarrassed ourselves enough lately?"
"The Sterling family has been at the center of a media storm. Any slight disturbance will tank our stock prices. You must force Summer to drop the charges."
Listening to Carlson's overbearing, dictatorial tone, Xavier inexplicably felt a surge of intense irritation.
Without a word, he stood up and headed for the door.
Carlson's brow furrowed, his face darkening. "Where are you going?"
Without looking back, Xavier replied, "To find a solution."
Once outside, Xavier didn't leave immediately. He leaned against his car door, lit a cigarette, and took a deep drag before pulling out his phone to call Wesley Whitmore.
"When are you coming back?"
"I'm already on my way to the hospital," Wesley replied.
Wesley had accompanied his father back to their hometown for the holidays. The moment Leo was injured, Xavier had contacted him.
"I'm leaving Leo in your hands, Wesley. You have to fix his legs, no matter what it takes. I'll personally fund your medical research for the rest of your life."
"Are you coming to the hospital?"
Xavier fell silent for a long moment. He thought of Silas standing guard over Summer like a knight, and he pictured Summer's cold, disgusted face. "No."
After hanging up with Wesley, Xavier called his assistant, Paige Brooks.
"How did it go?"
"Everything is arranged, Mr. Sterling. You have nothing to worry about."

Shortly after Miles left the police station, news of his alleged scandal hit the trending charts. The headlines accused him of assaulting Misty Lane, forcing her to get an abortion, and beating her when she refused.
Misty posted photos of Miles holding her hand, alongside a fake pregnancy ultrasound and pictures of herself hospitalized with injuries.
In an instant, the internet exploded with outrage.
Not only was Miles's personal reputation dragged through the mud, but Sutton Heights Capital's corporate image took a massive hit.
His assistant asked, "Boss, should we head to the office first? The PR department is already on standby."
"No, the hospital." Leo and Summer were still there. The company couldn't compare to their wellbeing.
The assistant stared at him in shock. "Boss?"
Miles gave his orders methodically. "Have the legal department issue a lawsuit for defamation. Record the screen and capture all evidence before calling the police. Tell the PR team to release a statement showing proof that we've involved the authorities."

At the hospital.
