How could she forget? She would never forget.
After all, he was the father who loved her the most, and from then on, she no longer had a father.
Tessa raised an eyebrow, utterly confused. "Then why did you give her money?"
A cold, calculating glint flashed in Summer's eyes. "She offended Lilith. Do you think Lilith will let her go? She thinks fleeing abroad will save her, but foreign countries are the most terrifying places. She has no family or friends there. One simple 'accident,' and she'll be gone."
Like a tiny pebble sinking into the ocean, she wouldn't even make a splash.
There was no need to dirty her own hands on someone destined to vanish.

After getting slapped by Summer, Zelda had no face left to visit Lilith's hospital room. She couldn't bear the humiliation.
She handed the soup over to a maid and headed straight to the Sterling Group.
Xavier Sterling had been busy all morning, not even having the time to grab a sip of water. His lips were dry. When he saw Zelda, he frowned.
"Mom? What are you doing here? Didn't I tell you to take the soup to Lilith?"
"Soup, soup, soup, that's all you care about," Zelda complained, pointing to her red, swollen cheek. "Can't you see your mother got hit?"
Xavier finally noticed her face, his expression darkening. "Who did this?"
Zelda snorted coldly and spoke in a sarcastic, venomous tone. "Who else do you think? Your wonderful ex-wife!"
"Summer?"
Zelda let out a mocking laugh. "She's got some serious nerve now. She called me an old witch! An old bitch! An old hag! She even said I needed to be locked up in a sanitarium. Oh, and by the way."
"And that wonderful son of yours too. Like mother, like son. Sharp-tongued and completely devoid of any manners or upbringing. He said he's wanted to swap out his dad and his grandparents for a long time now."
Xavier's mood had already been terrible lately. Hearing this, a predatory gaze settled over his eyes. "He really said that?"
Zelda looked like she couldn't even be bothered to repeat it and pointed at her bodyguard. "Ask the bodyguard yourself."
The bodyguard nodded and said, "Boss, the young boy did indeed say that."
"Stop calling him young boy. He clearly doesn't give a damn about it," Zelda said, looking deeply displeased before stating the real reason she had come.
Upon finding out that Summer had brought Leo to help Silas Sinclair snatch away their project, Carlson Sterling had been furious. He slammed the table and threatened to strike Leo's name from the registry.
But Xavier had refused, stubbornly blocking anyone from opening the ancestral hall to access the family tree.
To this moment, a group of bodyguards still surrounded the hall, preventing anyone from getting close.
Zelda figured that Summer's slap, combined with Leo's insolent words, would surely chill Xavier's heart and make him cave.
