"Dad!"
"Grandpa!"
Panic erupted across the room as the Sterling family descended into absolute chaos.
Carlson was rushed to the hospital in an ambulance. He decided to drag out his 'recovery' in a private suite, hoping to stall Xander while he figured out a way to kill the equity transfer once and for all.
In the meantime, the patriarch ordered his staff to find a slew of incredibly bright, adorable, and well-behaved children around Leo's age.
He was determined to distract Xander with better options.
But Xander wouldn't even give the kids a second glance.
Left with no choice, Carlson ordered Zelda to go talk some sense into Summer.
However, Summer had blocked every number associated with the Sterling family. With no way to reach her, Zelda was forced to track her down at Sutton Group headquarters.
The reception desk called up to Summer's office. "Director Vance, there is a Zelda Sterling here demanding to see you."
Summer raised an eyebrow. Hell had officially frozen over if Zelda was coming to see her willingly.
She quickly deduced it had to be about the adoption and the company shares.
"She's a fraud," Summer said flatly. "Throw her out."
"Right away, Director Vance."
The receptionist hung up the phone and signaled for security.
When the guards approached, she pointed directly at Zelda. "Director Vance says this woman is a fraud. Escort her off the premises."
"What did she just call me?!" Zelda hissed, her blood boiling.
The guards stepped up. "Ma'am, please cooperate and leave the building immediately."
Zelda's face turned completely purple with rage. It was the ultimate humiliation.
As the esteemed matriarch of the Sterling family, being forcibly thrown out by two lowly security guards was an unforgivable insult.
Zelda's personal bodyguards quickly stepped in to block the building security, creating a tense standoff in the lobby.
