Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 434

Paige Brooks, carrying the gifts, stood to the side and raised an eyebrow at the guard's words. "Do you not know who Mr. Sterling is?"

Xavier's face was usually a VIP pass of its own.

No matter where he went, security guards always scrambled to open doors for him. This was the first time a guard dared to block his path.

Xavier's gaze was ice-cold. "I'm here to attend my own son's birthday party. Do I need an invitation?"

"Your own son?" The security guard scoffed. "Sir, please don't joke around. The young boy celebrating his birthday today is clearly the son of Silas Sinclair, the CEO of the Sinclair Group. I saw and heard it with my own eyes and ears. The birthday boy called Mr. Sinclair 'Dad.'"

Xavier furrowed his brows. Just then, Silas Sinclair stepped out, and the guard immediately straightened up respectfully. "Mr. Sinclair, someone here is pretending to be your son's father."

Silas had spotted Xavier right away. He raised an eyebrow. "Mr. Sterling, what brings you here today? Have you come for a meal?"

Xavier said coldly, "I'm here to attend my son's birthday party."

Silas asked, "Then do you have a hand-drawn invitation from Leo?"

As he spoke, Silas pulled out a hand-drawn invitation and unfolded it. At the top, it clearly read: To Dad Silas.

Xavier's eyes narrowed dangerously, a surge of rage igniting in his chest. "Silas Sinclair!"

Silas smiled breezily. "Just a joke, Mr. Sterling. Don't take it to heart."

Right at that moment, a low-key luxury car pulled up. Silas excused himself and strode over.

Professor Banks and Principal Hayes stepped out of the vehicle.

Silas proactively opened the door and explained, "Summer intended to greet you personally, but a minor emergency came up. I'm stepping in to welcome you on her behalf. Right this way."

As the group walked past Xavier, Professor Banks cast a faint, dismissive glance in his direction.

Xavier offered a polite greeting. "Professor Banks, Principal Hayes."

The two men gave a curt nod, clearly unwilling to engage in conversation.

Lilith watched the exchange and wanted to say something, but realizing the timing was off, she bit her tongue and stayed quiet.

Silas paused and looked at Xavier. "Mr. Sterling, if you aren't in a rush, please wait here. I'll head inside and let Summer know you've arrived."
