Substitute Wife, Genius CEO novel Chapter 505

That very night.

Lilith received a frantic call from her assistant. "Manager Sutton, it's a disaster!"

Several long-term corporate partners of Zenith Tech were pulling out all at once, severing ties overnight.

On top of that, numerous ongoing projects suddenly encountered massive roadblocks.

If that wasn't enough, Zenith Tech had even been reported by its own employees!

In an instant, Lilith was overwhelmed. She threw on a jacket and rushed to her home office.

Just then, the two babies started wailing.

In the dead of night, their piercing cries sounded like banshees howling, grating heavily on her nerves.

Lilith angrily swung her office door open and roared toward the nursery, "So annoying! Shut them up! No more crying!"

"If I hear one more peep, I'm docking your pay!"

The two nannies exchanged nervous glances, quickly apologizing as they scrambled to soothe the infants.

Lilith slammed the door, grabbed a pack of cigarettes from the desk, pulled one out, and expertly lit it.

She had picked up smoking back in the States but quit because Xavier despised it.

But with all the suffocating pressure lately, she had fallen back into the habit.

She had stolen Summer's project during the day, and by nightfall, her company was falling apart.

She didn't need to guess who was behind this.

Summer!

Lilith was so furious she almost bit her cigarette in half.

Bennett found out about the catastrophe the next morning.

Although he had handed the company over to Lilith, he still had his loyalists on the inside. When the news reached him, he nearly coughed up blood.

The business had been running perfectly fine, only to implode the second Lilith took the reins.

It was obviously a coordinated attack, meaning she had deeply offended someone.

Bennett furiously confronted her. "Who the hell did you cross? Was it the Sterling family?!"

The more he thought about it, the more plausible it seemed. He lashed out, "Can't you just lay low and use your brain for once? If the Sterlings want a divorce, just sign the damn papers! Why are you acting like a lunatic? Are you practically begging them to destroy the Sutton family?!"

Listening to Bennett's rant, Lilith almost wanted to laugh. This was the father who supposedly loved and spoiled her since childhood.

She had always thought his love was genuine.

Now she saw the truth. As long as her actions didn't touch his bottom line, they could play the roles of a loving father and devoted daughter.

But the moment her mistakes threatened his interests, he would abandon her in a heartbeat.
