Lilith began to laugh softly.
"Xavier, we haven't officially signed the divorce papers yet. We are not legally divorced. What do you think you're doing, staring at other women like that? Looking to cheat again?"
Xavier stiffened, slowly turning his head to look at her.
His gaze was something Lilith had never seen before—chilling, predatory, and dark, like a vengeful spirit demanding blood.
Xavier forced Lilith back into the ward and locked the door behind them.
Lilith smiled seductively. "Locking the door, Xavier? Did you want to do it right here in the hospital room?"
"Shut up!" The veins on Xavier's forehead throbbed.
In that moment, any lingering illusion he had about her was completely shattered.
He had never felt such intense disgust and hatred for Lilith as he did right now.
Just the thought of the days he had spent with her made him feel physically sick.
He wished it was all fake, just a terrible nightmare.
And when he woke up, he and Summer wouldn't be divorced. They would still be husband and wife.
"Why are you yelling at me? It's not like we haven't done it in a hospital room before. You really enjoyed it back then."
Lilith looked at him with a sweet, mocking smile.
"I still remember how you held me and took me over and over again. The hospital bed was practically—"
"I told you to shut up!" Xavier roared, his eyes entirely bloodshot. He lunged forward and locked his hand around Lilith's throat.
Lilith's face instantly turned a violent shade of purple, and tears welled up in her eyes.
"Xavier... why? We were so perfect together. Why did you just stop loving me?"
