Chapter 10

As for the barren sand inside er Spatial Realm. Dora actually knew quite a bit about that. Back on Blue Planet, she’d personally visited arid farming regions to study agricultural development and drought–resistant crops.
She clearly remembered crops like peanuts, sweet potatoes, and potatoes. She decided to search the Interstellar Net for seeds and see how many starcoins they cost.
The thought made Dora sit upright in excitement as she hurriedly opened the Interstellar Net again and started searching.
Yet after a long while, she found absolutely nothing.
This interstellar world didn’t even have those crops.
Knowing that, Dora fell into despair.
She shut off the Optical Brain and lay back down again. Closing her eyes, she let her consciousness sink once more into the barren Spatial Realm.
Then, a tiny flicker of faint blue light flashed softly inside the empty land.
Dora’s
eyes snapped open, and her heart skipped a beat.
That glow and feeling were kind of familiar.
Dora immediately closed her eyes again and focused, cautiously reaching toward that tiny spark of light with her
consciousness.
In the next instant, a familiar virtual interface appeared clearly inside her mind.
It was the Barter System, the same system she had personally developed had actually traveled with her.
Dora froze. Then overwhelming joy burst through her whole body.
At that moment, she suddenly felt as if all the years she’d spent working herself to exhaustion on Blue Planet had been leading to this exact moment, as if that entire life had existed to compensate for the defective female she’d become in this interstellar world.
The interface displayed several simple function tabs: [My Storage]. [Post Request], [Browse Trades], [Lucky Draw].
Dora thought, ‘Damn! It really travels with me. Although it’s only an extremely stripped–down beginfier version, the core
structure was still there.’
Suppressing her excitement with difficulty, Dora immediately opened My Storage.
Inside was completely empty, but beside it flashed a button labeled Beginner Gift Pack.
She clicked it without hesitation.
[User Dora, congratulations on activating the beginner version of the Universal Spacetime Barter System. You have received a newcomer starter pack: 100 points.]
100 points weren’t much under normal circumstances, but right now, it felt like life–saving stuff.
Dora instantly opened the [System Marketplace] and found the seeds she wanted.

Cher eyes quickly lacked onto several items: [Drought–Resistant Peanut Seeds x20: 15 points), [High–Survival Potatoes x3 20
porms, and [Sweet Potato Vines x3: 25 points).
Without even thinking, Doraent/all 100 points at once, exchanging for peanut seeds, potato tubers, and sweet potato
Vines.
The moment her points dropped to zero, the three items appeared out of thin air in her hands, carrying the fresh scent of soil and living plants.
“Yes“” Dora let out a soft scream of excitement and lovingly touched the plump peanut seeds and the potato tubers already sprouting tiny buds.
She stored the seeds inside her Spatial Realm, then continued exploring the system. Curious, she used her consciousness to tap on My Storage.
Instantly, a transparent storage space about 3,500 cubic feet in size appeared on top of her barren sandy land. At the same time, the Barter System interface panels appeared floating along the transparent walls.
Dora wondered. “The Barter System has fused with my original Spatial Realm?
A line of small text appeared below: [Time–Stasis Storage Realm. Current level: Level–1. Storage limited to non–living items.]
Dora instantly recognized it. This had been one of the core technologies developed for the Barter System. It had traveled here with her too.
Dora wanted to throw her head back and laugh out loud.
She thought excitedly, ‘Perfect. The classic cheat ability is finally here.
She felt like she’d waited forever for this very moment.
Her consciousness sank back into the Spatial Realm again. The land was still barren sand, but now, in her eyes, it was filled with possibility.
Using her thoughts, she carefully divided the ground into three small sections. Then she gently pressed the peanut seeds into the sand, buried the potato tubers, and planted the sweet potato vines.
Every movement was careful and solemn, almost like she was performing some sacred ritual.
After finishing all this, Dora rubbed her hands together excitedly and returned to the Barter System interface, her eyes shining.
Lucky Draw icon glowed invitingly, and Dora eagerly opened it.
A system notification immediately popped up:[Complete one barter transaction mission to unlock a draw opportunity. Current prize rate: 100%]
“This is amazing.” Dora was so excited that her fingers trembled slightly.
Tomorrow, I’ll go to the training zone and gather some materials to exchange.” She happily muttered to herself, unable to stop grinning. “Nice. There’s always a way out.”
Dora exited her Spatial Realm and lay back on the mat, silently pumping her fist in the air. Her face was full of uncontrollable joy, along with the deep satisfaction of finally taking fate back into her own hands.
With the Barter System and these seeds, she would no longer be a defective female. She had already cut off her disastrous fate with Cassian.

time, she probably wouldn’t die miserably like before. From now on, she was going to change her destiny and make up for all her regrets.
At this moment, there wasn’t trace left of the miserable, desperate girl from earlier that day. Her entire face glowed with hope for the future as she finally drifted into a deep, satisfied sleep.

After leaving, Clive first slipped into the Shawn Residence. Finding Cassian wasn’t there, Clive concealed himself along the route Cassian would have to take back.
Exhausted and disheveled from breaking free, Cassian staggered out of the hotel. Every step felt heavy, and he couldn’t shake the memory of Dora’s final, distant look and her controlled, rational behavior.
The emptiness gnawed at his chest, leaving him restless.
From the shadows a short distance away, a figure nearly indistinguishable from the darkness had been watching Cassian for a long time.
Clive leaned against the metal wall like a statue, casually toying with a low–level crystal core fragment whose energy was nearly depleted. Yet his gaze was fixed on Cassian like a predator locking onto prey.
Images of Dora, struggling with drugs in the hotel and nearly being taken advantage of by that jerk, and memories of the jerk, playing with Dora with his family status and marriage agreement, scorched Clive’s mind over and over.
Clive muttered, “Breaking off the engagement Hmph. Thanks for that.”
