Chapter 119

Clive hurled his lightning spear, Lioren’s wind blades sliced through the air, and Rafe’s compressed wind bullets slammed into the python’s side.

All three attacks landed almost at once, cracking the python’s tough scales, but it barely slowed down. Its massive claws still came crashing down toward Dora.

Elmer’s golden shield shattered like glass under the python’s claws.

Just in time, a streak of silver light shot out from the depths of the reeds.

It slammed right into one of the python’s heads, knocking its massive body off course by nearly two feet.

A crane’s cry split the air.

That familiar, clear call almost brought tears to Dora’s eyes.

It was the silver crane.

It was the Level 7 silver crane.

Its feathers looked like moonlight turned to frost, its long neck arching with effortless grace. When it spread its wings, silver light scattered like stardust in the night.

It touched down with unhurried poise, as if it hadn’t just entered a battlefield full of monsters, but was simply out for a stroll in the park.

It unfurled its silver-white wings, each over sixteen feet across, like a living shield, standing firm in front of Dora.

Bathed in moonlight, it was as elegant as ever, its eyes clear and pure, though now there was a sharp, deadly edge in its gaze.

The two-headed python steadied itself, its vertical pupils narrowing as it let out a low, menacing growl.

The mutated panther crept in from the other side, its blood-red eyes darting between the silver crane and Dora.

Three Level 7 mutated alien beasts faced off under the moonlight.

The silver crane stood its ground.

It let out a long, intricate cry, the rhythm shifting and complex.

It wasn’t a threat, almost like they were talking.

The two-headed python answered with a low, rumbling growl.

The silver crane sang out again, another burst of calls.

The panther let out a deep, rumbling growl.

The silver crane cried out a third time, its wings spreading just a bit, shielding Dora, ready to defend and protect.

A hush settled over the battlefield.

It lingered, thick and tense, stretching on without end.

Then, the two-headed python turned and let out a short, guttural growl toward the horde of mutated alien beasts.

The ring of mutated alien beasts began to loosen.

The Level 5 and Level 6 mutated alien beasts retreated like a tide, melting away into the shadows of the reeds and forest

The two-headed python and the mutated panther cast one last glance at the silver crane.

Or maybe, at Dora standing behind it, before they slowly faded into the darkness.

The danger had passed.

It had hit out of nowhere, and vanished just as mysteriously.

Dora’s legs gave out, and she slumped against a tree behind her, gasping for breath.

Elmer rushed over, frantically checking her for injuries.

Clive pulled back his lightning spear and stood by her side, breathing heavily, his eyes locked onto the silver crane.

Lioren’s cat ears were still flattened back, still tense from the adrenaline.

Rafe was trying to calm the wild energy inside him, his blue eyes filled with shock and uncertainty.

The reed beds were quiet once more, the ground strewn with mutated alien beast corpses and the air thick with the scent blood.

The silver crane stayed.

It stood quietly in the moonlight, its pure eyes watching Dora.

Dora held its gaze.

“Thank you,” Dora whispered.

The silver crane cocked its head.

She took out her biggest water bucket from the Spatial Realm, filled it to the brim with essence spring water, and set it down in front of the silver crane.

“Thank you,” Dora said again, her voice rough. “This is essence spring water, the same kind I poured over your land before.

“Is this enough?”

The silver crane lowered its head, its beak just barely touching the surface, sending ripples spreading out.

It took a few sips, then lifted its head and let out a short, gentle cry, as if to say, “That’s enough.”

Then, it gripped the bucket’s handle with its beak, spread its silver-white wings, and lifted off into the moonlit sky.

The crane’s shadow swept over the reeds, soared above the treetops, and disappeared into the silver ring of the moon.

Dora watched it go, saying nothing for a long while.

“Level 6 mutated alien beasts are already pretty smart,” Dora finally murmured. “But I never thought a Level 7 could be this

clever.”

“It’s not just intelligence,” Rafe said, his voice steady again. “It recognized you.

“It remembered how you didn’t hurt its territory last time, and even used that essence spring water to fix

up

the land.

“It’s paying you back.”

‘An mutated alien beast shows more gratitude than many people,” Clive said, his tone cool.

Elmer collapsed to the ground. “My legs are like jelly…”

Lioren’s cat ears drooped, the tip of his tail still twitching.

Dora took a deep breath, scanning her surroundings. “It’s actually safer here than anywhere else right now.”

The night wind swept through the reeds, making them whisper softly.

With the mutated alien beasts gone, the area was strangely quiet.

The pressure left behind by the Advanced mutated alien beasts still lingered, so no other mutated alien beasts would da come close anytime soon.

For them, eager to find a safe place to camp, this was the perfect shelter.

“Let’s find a spot to set up camp,” Dora said. “We’ll get some rest tonight and head out in the morning.”

Clive nodded, pushing himself to start scouting the terrain.

Five minutes later, he stopped at a rock wall on the outskirts of the reed beds, partially concealed by vines.

“Here,” he said.

Everyone worked together to pull back the vines, revealing a dry and spacious half cave.

Elmer switched on the light, and everyone was left speechless.

Deep inside the cave, the rock walls were studded with countless deep blue crystals.

They were scattered like stars, and when the light hit them, a dreamy blue glow filled the air. A tide of pure, powerful ene swept over the group.

Everyone crowded around.

Lioren’s tail froze as he sensed the energy.

Elmer’s jaw dropped.

Rafe’s blue eyes widened in disbelief, a look one almost never saw on him.

It was a crystal ore.
