Surrounded by Five Beast Lords novel Chapter 120

Chapter 120

“All done.” Dora said, dusting off her hands as if there was actually something to brush away. She turned to face the four males, each with a different look in their eyes, and said calmly. “Time for dinner.”

“Tonight, we’re having Spicy Skillet,” she added.

The mouthwatering aroma of the Spicy Skillet filled the brief silence as Dora took it out.

She pulled five food containers from her Spatial Realm. The bold fragrance swept through the entire cave.

She handed out the containers to the four males. Then she took out a chilled watermelon with red flesh and thin skin. this when it gets too spicy, to help with the heat.”

Elmer stared blankly at the container, completely mesmerized.

He picked up a slice of meat drenched in spicy red oil and took a cautious bite.

Then his whole face flushed red, from his neck all the way up to his hairline.

“It’s so spicy! But it tastes amazing!” Elmer gasped.

He hissed as he tried to cool his burning mouth, eyes watering like crazy, but he couldn’t help grabbing a third slice.

Lioren delicately picked out the fish slices, his movements graceful as ever. His cat ears kept twitching from the spicy kick but his tail was thumping away in pure delight.

Clive ate quietly, but he wasn’t slow at all. The heat had brought a sheen of sweat to his hair, a few damp strands sticking te his forehead, but his fork never paused for a second.

Rafe kept his composure as he ate, matching the others’ speed. Between bites, he even offered a food critic’s take. “The laye of spice are incredible, the numbing aftertaste really lingers, and the seasoning is perfectly balanced.

“You couldn’t get a dish like this even in the top restaurants on the Core Planet.”

Dora barely touched her own food.

She was too busy watching how each of the males handled the heat, grinning so much she just couldn’t stop.

When she sliced open the watermelon, its crisp, sweet aroma cut through the spicy intensity of the meal.

She handed out two pieces to each of them. Elmer took a huge bite, and the juice almost splashed onto his shirt, but Lioren flicked it away with his tail.

“Lioren, what was that for?” Elmer protested.

“It’s messy,” Lioren replied coolly.

“It wasn’t even going to get on you!” Elmer shot back.

“It’s an eyesore,” Lioren replied coolly.

Clive wordlessly slid his own piece of watermelon over to Dora.

Rafe finished his first piece of watermelon at a leisurely pace, wiped his fingers, and suddenly asked, “Dory, did you grow these watermelons in your Spatial Realm too?”

“Yeah, I’ve got a patch of sandy soil in there. It’s perfect for growing watermelons,” Dora replied.

You should think about expanding your watermelon patch, Rafe suggested seriously. “Fresh fruit is always a luxtuy on the Core Planet.

“Once we’re back, if you’ve got any extras, you could test the waters with a small batch through the Blackflame Trading

Guild.

Clive paused for a moment as he sliced the watermelon, his dark gaze sweeping over to Rafe.

Rafe responded with an innocent smile.

Dora didn’t catch the subtle tension between them and passed out the last piece of watermelon.

After everyone had eaten their fill, the beast mates all pitched in to clean up the mess, while Dora happily headed back p her rest pod.

She couldn’t wait to see how many crystal cores she’d scored today.

Moonlight seeped through the little window of the rest pod, painting the sleeping mat with a thin layer of silvery frost.

Dora plopped down on the edge of her bed, dumping out an entire bag of crystal cores in front of her.

Blue, red, green, purple, every color shimmered in the dim cabin, swirling together like a dreamy galaxy.

She carefully laid them out one by one, sorting each into its own little pile.

Every time her fingers glided over the smooth surface of a crystal core, she could feel the quiet but powerful energy pulsing inside.

“Three at Pinnacle Level 6,” Dora counted softly. “Five at Moderate Level 6.

“Eight at Primary Level 6.”

Elmer finished tidying up and was the first to rush in, plopping himself at the foot of the bed with eyes wide as saucers, so hyped his invisible tail might’ve left afterimages.

Lioren was next.

Lioren shifted into his cat form and sprawled out by the pillow, amber eyes catching the shimmer of the crystal cores, his tail tip flicking unconsciously.

Clive was already sitting quietly in the shadows by the pod door, his eyes locked onto the pile of crystal cores, his expression unreadable.

Rafe came in last, leaning against the folding table, blue eyes flashing with the sharp glint of a top merchant sizing up premium goods.

“Forty-five Level 5 crystal cores, seventy-three Level 4,” Dora counted, then paused, thinking for a second.

“Anything below Level 4… didn’t see a single one,” she said.

‘It’s not like I didn’t want to hunt them, Dora thought, ‘there just weren’t any around!

The number of high-level mutated alien beasts here was totally off the charts for a normal ecosystem.

The low-level ones either got chased away or became lunch for the big guys.

Dora picked up the Level 6 crystal core, its soft green glow marking it as wood-type, its energy felt clean and soothing to the

touch.

She set that one aside, then pushed all the other crystal cores together into the center of the bed

‘Do you guys want to power up again?” Dora asked, looking at the four males.

“I just hit Moderate Level 6, Clive said, his tone steady. “Gotta settle in and stabilize first, so I’m good for now”

Lioren’s cat ears twitched. “I’m at Pinnacle Level 5.

“To go any higher, I need a real breakthrough, not just piling up crystal cores.”

Rafe smiled. “My injuries just healed up, so it’s better not to push it right now.”

Elmer scratched his head. “I just got steady at Moderate Level 5, so I can’t level up again yet.”

He paused, his eyes shining as he looked at Dora.

“And now that your Spatial Realm has upgraded, I get to eat your fresh fruits and veggies every day. My crystal energy is always topped up, and my powers stay stable at this level!”

Dora looked at the four guys in front of her, each so different, yet all with the same unwavering resolve, and a wave of warmth filled her heart.

She understood all the reasons they never said out loud.

She’d seen too many families fall apart fighting over resources, and beast mates who forced their female mates to exhaust their Spatial Realms just so they could power up with more crystal energy.

But her beast mates? Even if they’d gone hungry for three days, they’d still give her the last bite.

Dora carefully put the bag of crystal cores back into her Spatial Realm.

“I’ll keep them safe for now,” she said. “Whenever you need them, they’re always here for you.”

Dora glanced at the pitch-black sky, listening to the faint, eerie howls of some unknown mutated alien beast echoing from outside the cave.

For now, no mutated alien beast dared approach their hideout, but the pressure left behind by those two Level 7 mutated alien beasts was already visibly fading.

By the time dawn broke, this area would definitely attract the attention of new predators.

Clive cleared his throat. “So, about tonight’s watch…”

As soon as the question was brought up, the vibe inside the cabin instantly turned a bit awkward.

Elmer started straightening out his sleeping mat extra carefully, acting like he wasn’t paying attention, and even set a little bunch of wildflowers he’d picked during the day right by his pillow.

Lioren stayed in his cat form, sprawled out by the pillow, but his tail tip silently curled around the edge of the sheet.

Clive didn’t move after speaking, just turned his eyes to Dora, no rush, just quietly waiting.

Rafe leaned against the folding table, his red hair glowing in the warm light, posture relaxed, as if he was letting fate take its

course.

Four pairs of eyes, four different styles, all focused on Dora.

Dora felt the pressure.
