Chapter 130

“So, my five beast mates.

“One is an underworld kingpin.

:

“One is the Prince of Frostveil Planet, with wealth that rivals nations.

“One is the ex-CEO of the Sterling Group, faking bankruptcy.

“One is a top military commander.”

She paused, glancing at Elmer. “And one is my childhood pup who grew up alongside me.”

Elmer pouted, sounding aggrieved. “Dora, I’m the least impressive one…”

“Who says that?” Dora reached out and ruffled his hair. “You’re the family’s protector.”

Dora stood up, letting her eyes sweep across the group.

She said, “Alright, that’s enough truth-telling for now. Game over.”

Lioren blinked in surprise. “You’re not mad?”

“Mad about what?” Dora raised an eyebrow. “Am I supposed to be mad that you all have secrets?

“I’ve got my own secrets too. Like, have any of you ever asked why my Spatial Realm is full of stuff from the Ancient Blue Planet? No, right?”

The room went quiet.

Dora walked to the center of the living room and turned to face them.

She said, “We’re family. Family doesn’t have to spill every secret, but we do need to trust each other.”

Dora paused, then said, “The fact that you all chose to share today, that’s enough for me.”

Lucian hadn’t said a word the whole time.

He just sat there quietly, his pale golden eyes sweeping over Lioren, then Rafe, and finally settling on Dora.

Dora felt his gaze and turned to look at him.

“What about you?” she asked. “Anything else you want to add?”

Lucian was silent for a moment, then shook his head.

The sound of rain outside was still steady and intense.

Inside, the holographic starship blueprint hovered above the dining table, its ethereal blue glow illuminating

the five males, each showing a different expression.

“Alright,” Dora said, her radiant face breaking into a smile. “I’m truly honored, not a single one of my beast mates is a pushover.”

Clive’s lips curled into a barely noticeable smile.

Lioren’s tail wrapped back around her ankle, this time with a bit more swagger.

Rafe raised his glass from across the room in a toast. “Right back at you.”

Lucian remained silent, but there was a faint warmth in his pale golden eyes.

Elmer glanced around, suddenly feeling like he’d missed some big plot twist, but he nodded along anyway. “Yeah! We’re family!”

Dora looked at them, her heart filled with warmth.

Yes, they were family.

It didn’t matter who they were, where they came from, or what secrets they kept.

Right now, they were all sitting together, talking about upgrading their home into a starship and planning for the future.

And that was enough.

“Seven!” Dora called out.

The robot in the corner, its breathing light glowing steadily, immediately glided over. “Master, what can I do for you?”

“Break out the wine, let’s celebrate…” Dora said.

She paused, casting a look at her five beast mates.

“Let’s celebrate, our family finally knows each other.”

Seven’s breathing light blinked with excitement. “Got it, Master! Opening the wine, let’s party!”

Laughter filled the room again.

Lucian suddenly spoke up. “Since we’ve laid it all out there, let’s get to the real business.”

He produced an encrypted file and projected it right in the middle of the living room.

“The Shawn family, Kael, the Sterling Group board, and the Frostveil Planet elders, there’s a bigger player behind the scenes,” Lucian said.

Lioren’s eyes narrowed. “Who?”

Lucian paused for a second, then spat out, “Certain Federation senators.”

The atmosphere froze, tension thick in the air.

Rafe’s brows knitted together. “Federation senators? Why would they…”

“Crystal ore,” Lucian cut him off. “Once you control the crystal ore, you hold all the cards, strategic resources, the military, everything…”

Lioren’s face darkened.

Clive’s eyes were deep and unreadable. “So this whole setup was all about the crystal ore from the start.”

Dora suddenly spoke up. “Then what about the ones we’ve got?”

“We have to hide them,” Lucian looked at her. “If anyone finds out, our family will have a target on our backs.”

The living room fell into a brief silence.

Elmer meekly raised his hand. “So… can we still upgrade the starship?”

Lucian glanced at him. “Yes, but we’ll have to use encryption, steer clear of all official channels, and do it all in secret. We need to keep it off the radar.”

Rafe’s blue eyes flickered. “I’ve got the connections.”

Clive’s voice was low and steady. “I’ve got the manpower.”

Lioren’s tail flicked lazily. “I’ve got more crystal ore than we’ll ever need.”

Lucian nodded. “I’ll handle the blueprints and the core components.”

Dora watched as the five men, who had just been sizing each other up, now divided up the work and worked together naturally. A strange warmth welled up in her heart.

“Alright, that’s settled,” she said, clapping her hands. “During the wet season, we’re not going anywhere. We’ll stay home and upgrade the starship.”

She paused, a faint smile tugging at her lips.

“Once the starship’s ready, even if some Federation senators try to come after us, we can just pack up and fly our whole home away.”

Everyone paused for a second, then burst out laughing.

“Here’s to our bright future!” Dora lifted her glass, her dazzling smile lighting up the room.

All five beast mates raised their glasses in unison.

Clive’s eyes were deep and intense.

Lioren’s cat ears twitched slightly.

Elmer’s eyes shone brightly.

Rafe looked elegant and composed.

Lucian kept his face blank, but his hand was steady as he raised his glass.

The glasses clinked together with a crisp, clear ring.

After setting down his glass, Lucian pulled a palm-sized, sleek box from his inner pocket and pushed it over to Dora.

The box was silver-white, marked with military encryption sigils, and felt icy cool in her hand.

“Energy stabilizer,” Lucian said, still in that calm tone.

His pale golden eyes locked on her. “Commander-grade, only handed out for interstellar deployments.
