Chapter 161

Inside Dora’s Spatial Realm, in the Begonia Courtyard.

Dora stood at the stone table, her eyes fixed on the countdown timer as the seconds slipped away.

5:48.

5:47

5:46.

There were less than six minutes left.

She looked around once more, her gaze settling on the little cabin.

She walked over and gently pushed the door open.

The cabin was simply furnished, yet felt warm and inviting.

There was a bed with a soft mattress and a warm blanket.

A bookshelf stood in the corner, holding a few books.

On the desk sat a lamp, a pen holder, and….

A letter.

The envelope was addressed to “To My Master.”

Dora picked up the letter and opened it.

The handwriting on the paper was neat and elegant, and looked like it was written by hand.

[Master, if you’re reading this, you’ve probably already figured out the secret of this little courtyard.

[This is a private space opened up for you by the spatial crystal core.

[How much time you get on the hourglass and timer all depends on your psychic power.

[The stronger your psychic power, the longer you can spend here.

[The more often you visit, the timer will gradually extend.

[All the items in this cabin are prepared just for you.

[The books on the shelf cover the fundamental principles of the Spatial Realm.

[You can rest on the bed whenever you need.

[The lamp on the desk is the power source of the courtyard. As long as it stays lit, the courtyard keeps running.

[Finally, congratulations, Master.

[You now own the only space like this in the whole interstellar world.

[Please cherish it.]

After reading the letter, Dora flipped it over, but there was nothing on the back.

It didn’t even say how to make her psychic power stronger.

There was no time to dwell on it.

Dora glanced at the timer, only two minutes left.

She stepped out of the cabin and gently pulled Lioren into her arms.

“Ready?” Dora asked.

Lioren’s ears twitched. There was a trace of nervousness in his amber eyes, but anticipation shone even brighter.

“Yeah,” he replied.

Dora took a deep breath, watching the timer tick down.

3……2……1…….

Everything spun wildly for a moment.

In the blink of an eye, she found herself standing in the hallway. Lioren still in her arms. The study door was behind her, and there was no one in sight ahead.

The hallway was just as quiet as before. The study door was shut right, and Kael and his crew were gone.

Cassian had vanished without a trace.

Dora let out a long breath, holding Lioren close as she quietly retraced her steps.

A faint smile tugged at Dora’s lips as she carried Lioren, making her way down the third-floor gallery toward the banquet hall.

Suddenly, Dora felt a pair of eyes locked onto her. Lioren’s ears shot up, instantly on guard.

Kael was standing in the shadows at the corner, casually twirling a crystal energy pistol in his hand.

His gaze was cold and unsettling, like he was sizing her up.

“Ms. Southwell,” he called out, his voice dripping with malice. “Lost your way?”

Dora could feel Lioren tense up in her arms, his fur bristling as he went instantly alert.

There was a tiny scratch on Kael’s crystal energy pistol, barely noticeable unless one looked closely.

Lioren had put that mark there himself, the night the royal family was overthrown on the Frostveil Planet three years ago.

This guy was involved in that coup.

“General Shawn,” Dora said, her voice steady. “I wanted to get some air in the garden, but your staff told me the balcony was locked.”

“It is locked,” Kael replied, stepping closer as he spun the crystal energy pistol between his fingers. “It’s the wet season, and there are too many mutated parasites around.

“Ms. Southwell, with your Level 6 combat suit, you’ve got nothing to worry about, but…”

His gaze shifted to the cat in her arms. “Your pet, and the other guests, are still afraid.”

Lioren let out a soft, timid meow and snuggled deeper into Dora’s arms, looking for all the world like a frightened pet cat.

But Dora could feel him trembling.

It was a barely contained urge to kill, a hatred on the verge of overwhelming his sanity.

“Thanks for looking out,” Dora said. “Guess I’ll head back to the hall.” She turned, walking with steady steps and her posture upright.

Kael’s gaze felt like a knife at her back, but she never looked over her shoulder.

It wasn’t until she rounded the corner that she finally let out a breath.

“He was involved in the coup on the Frostveil Planet three years ago.” Liaren said, his voice cold and mocking,

“Back then, he was just a dog standing behind those who orchestrated the coup.

“Now, he’s still a dog.”

“Now’s not the time to go head-to-head,” Dora said. “He’s got Level 7 supernatural ability, and right now, you’re just a cat.”

Lioren fell silent.

“He was testing us just now,” Dora added. “He suspects we were the ones outside the study.

For the first time, Lioren felt genuine respect for her, seeing it reflected in his own feline eyes.

A female who could endure, plot, act, and stay calm and collected, truly impressive,’ Lioren thought.

“So, what now?” Lioren asked.

“Let’s just pretend nothing happened and head back to the hall,” Dora said. “We need to let their guard down”

By the time they got back to the hall, the party had moved into a new phase.

Regina was standing beneath the fake tree covered with a cloth, enthusiastically telling everyone about its “miraculous effects.”

Dora noticed red spots blooming on the back of Regina’s neck, parasites were invading, but Regina hadn’t realized a thing.

Wendy’s situation was even worse.

Her champagne-colored dress was exposed to the humid air, and delicate black streaks were already forming

on her arms.

She kept up a strained smile, holding onto Cassian’s arm, but her gaze kept flickering over to Rafe.

Rafe was standing by the buffet, acting weak and coughing, holding a glass of some kind of high-tech fruit

wine.

‘Rafe’s actually drinking that?’ Dora thought, frowning.

Dora walked closer and caught sight of a tiny recorder tucked under his cuff.

He was collecting evidence.

Dora mouthed silently to him, “Are you crazy?”

Rafe replied in a low voice, a wry smile on his lips, “Who’d even notice a useless Level 4 male like me?”

Dora gestured at her Optical Brain to signal him.

Dora started typing in the family group chat…

The corner was right next to a pillar, and the shadows fell just right, making him melt into the scenery, almost invisible to everyone else.

But his focus wavered, his mind drifting as if something was tugging at him from afar.

From just a moment ago, he’d been sensing something odd, an inexplicable feeling he couldn’t shake.

It was as if something was calling to him, reaching out from somewhere unseen.

Not a voice, not a scent, just a deep, primal resonance echoing from the depths of his bloodline.

Clive frowned, pushing down that strange feeling and kept his focus on the impostor posing as him.

Suddenly, he felt something shift.

Someone was watching him, their gaze filled with an emotion he couldn’t describe.

Clive turned his head.

Not far off, a middle-aged man in a dark gray robe was staring right at him.
