Cassian’s expression was even uglier than Regina’s.

Cassian snapped out of it and quickly called for the guards. They hustled the angry family reps out, some with gentle words, others practically dragging them.

Once the door closed, the world finally fell silent.

A moment later, Regina opened her eyes and fixed Cassian with a gaze as sharp as a blade.

“What’s going on with those people?” she demanded.

Cassian lowered his head, his voice rough as sandpaper. “It’s… the families who showed up at the banquet that day.

“The Shawn family isn’t even a medical family, so why are they all camped out at our door, demanding medicine?’

There were at least a hundred female family heads at the banquet that day.

Cassian couldn’t bring himself to meet her gaze.

The call connected almost instantly.

Robert was a man in his early fifties, with a neatly trimmed goatee and eyes that were shrewd and full of cunning.

Robert listened to Cassian’s request and paused for three seconds.

“Thirty percent,” he said.

Cassian was stunned. “What?”

“I want thirty percent of the finished medicine,” Robert said flatly, making it clear there was no room for negotiation.

“You’re providing the agave plants, but I’m the one supplying the pharmaceutical expertise, manpower, and distribution channels.

“Thirty percent isn’t too much,” he stated firmly.

Cassian looked to his mother for guidance.

Regina nodded through gritted teeth.

“Alright,” Cassian said.
