Chapter 25

A family with a beast mate who had a high supernatural ability level would see the whole family’s status rise along with it.

Generally, males with Level–7 and above supernatural abilities, the youngest of them around forty years old, all held important positions in the military.

Those with Level–9 supernatural abilities were extremely rare. It was said there were only a few in the entire interstellar, and their identities were a mystery.

So, Clive, at twenty–six, with no parents and no family protection, was already at Level–4 Pinnacle. That clearly showed his talent was anything but ordinary.

Dora came to her senses and looked at Elmer. Before she could even ask. Elmer’s head of slightly curly hair was already bobbing in front of her, his light brown eyes brimming with eagerness for her to ask him.

“Dora, my rank is Level–3 Primary,” Elmer said. “Though I can’t compare to some people.”

He added, glancing pointedly at Clive and pursing his lips, but his voice was kept very low, “I have the Gold Shield defense supernatural ability. I can protect you. He pitched himself urgently, terrified that Dora might find him useless.

Level–3 Primary, combined with Elmer’s age of twenty, was already very outstanding.

Dora nodded and noted it down seriously. “Alright, Elmer. Level–3 Primary. Gold Shield defense supernatural ability.”

Seeing Dora’s approving nod. Elmer immediately acted like he’d received praise, his eyes sparkling. Almost pressed against Dora’s ear, he whispered with a hint of smugness, I’ve also awakened a second supernatural ability, and it’s the rare healing- type.”

Blushing, he continued in a low voice, “Even my family doesn’t know. It awakened mysteriously after I got injured once. I’ve kept it hidden all this time.”

Dora’s eyes brightened again, and she was pleasantly surprised.

She thought, ‘Another one with dual supernatural abilities, and especially a rare healing–type. That’s like having a doctor in the team. So, Elmer has been hiding his true strength all along. He’s not as simple as he looks on the surface.

Seeing Dora’s pleased expression, Elmer pressed his advantage. “Dora, I’m homeless now. Will you take me as your beast

mate?”

Dora fell silent, thinking, ‘Is this really the right time to bring this up?

Elmer didn’t give up. He shook Dora’s arm. “If I register as your beast mate, we’ll truly be a family, and this little cat, too. That way, we’ll have even better teamwork.”

Dora felt that Elmer’s words made sense. She replied, “Once we return from the training zone this time, we’ll go to the marriage matching center to register. How does that sound?”

Hearing that, Elmer was so happy that he nearly jumped up.

Lioren’s face fell. He thought, ‘Who said I was going to be a family with you people?”

Dora looked at Lioren. He had opened his eyes at some point, his amber eyes watching her faintly in the dim light, as if warung.

early sense that he didn’t like the name fuzzball she had given him.

“Would you mind telling me your level?” She paused and added. “Of course, if your injuries are too severe and it’s inconvenient for you to move around, you can stay at the base to rest and watch the house.”

“Meow” Lioren let out a drawn–out meow laced with obvious disdain. He slowly stood up, arched his back, and stretched. Though the wound on his hind leg made his movements a bit stiff, his posture still carried an innate arrogance.

He didn’t answer directly. Instead, he lifted a front paw, and sharp claws extended from his paw pad. He swiped casually in

the air.

A nearly imperceptible but incredibly sharp pale–gold energy blade flashed for an instant, cutting the very air in the tent into brief ripples, and left four shallow marks precisely on the ground.

Then Lioren lifted his little head high, his amber eyes full of pride and arrogance. After this demonstrative gesture, he curled back up on the blanket, shut his eyes proudly, and let out a lazy rumble from his throat.

Dora was stunned again. She thought, ‘Level–4? This ragged, seriously injured little cat has such a high level?‘

Though Lioren’s current state was terrible, his precise control of energy and the superior quality of his energy attribute were undeniably real.

Dora thought, ‘With Level–4 supernatural ability, how did he end up gravely wounded and near death at the edge of the training zone, even forced to stay in young beast form?”

She played along enthusiastically. “Wow, you’re also Level–4? But since the kitten is still badly hurt, and everyone’s crystal energy reserves are low, we should still focus on the low–level training zones for now.”

Dora summed things up and continued, “Just as I estimated. I made a plan in advance. Can everyone take a look and see if it’s workable?”

She pulled up the plan from her Optical Brain and projected it in front of everyone.

Dora’s fingers swiped quickly across the light screen. Based on the training zone maps, material distribution, mission announcements she had looked up, and the team’s estimated strength, she had drafted a preliminary action plan.

The initial goal was to prioritize safety above all else. They would first select gathering and cleanup missions in the outer Zone and C Zone of the Comprehensive Combat Training Area, as well as hunt some low–level alien beasts to obtain materials.

The target materials for gathering were ironwood and soft crystal ore, both supplementary materials needed for basic

r construction.

The alien beast types were mutated earth lizards and mutated glow beetles. These were both Level–1 to Level–2 alien beasts. But earth lizard hide was a good moisture–proof material, and glow beetle glands were ingredients for energy stabilizers.

As for the division of roles, Clive would be in charge of primary vigilance and handling sudden dangers. Elmer would handle defense.

Lioren, if he were in good condition, would handle flank vigilance and deal with small, fast alien beast threats. Dora would handle material storage and some basic medical care, providing logistical support for the team.
