Chapter 6 Form The Blood Pact

Chapter 6 Form The Blood Pact

The pain Dora expected never came. Instead, an icy sensation spread from the spot where Clive’s fangs pierced her skin.

The cold seeped deep into her bones and quickly rushed through her body, violently clashing against the burning heat inside her. The relief was almost intoxicating.

Clive kept her pinned in place, maintaining the bite as his fangs stayed buried deep in her skin, continuously feeding cold venom into her bloodstream.

In the darkness, his vertical pupils narrowed into thin slits, glowing with cold focus.

He could clearly feel her body trembling from the sudden chill. Then, little by little, she relaxed. The frantic pulse beating beneath his lips gradually slowed, becoming heavy and sluggish.

At the same time, a strange bond quietly began forming between them.

Clive slowly loosened his bite and lifted his head.

A trace of her blood stained the corner of his lips. He calmly extended his tongue and licked it away in silence.

Only then did he release Dora. But his gaze remained fixed on the place he’d bitten. On her pale neck, a faint snakeshaped mark slowly appeared around the bite.

His slit pupils gradually returned to deep eyes, though coldness still lingered in them, along with a dark sense of satisfaction that hadn’t fully faded.

It only lasted a few dozen seconds, yet Dora felt it was as long as an entire lifetime.

At last, the scorching heat burning through Dora’s body was completely suppressed and swallowed by the icy venom.

She finally stopped struggling. The trembling slowly faded too. The flushed color of lust disappeared from her face, making her look fragile and pale.

Only the two tiny marks on her neck remained vivid and eyecatching, with blood beads slowly forming around them, which proved what had just happened.

Clive looked at Dora lying weakly among the tangled sheets. Her eyes were closed. Damp strands of hair clung to her cheeks. On her pale neck, his mark became clearer

and clearer.

For the past four years, she’d haunted him countless nights. Every time he woke from dreams about her, he thought the same thing.

He regretted not biting her like this on that very night. He should’ve ignored everything and forced a blood pact with her, even if she later cruelly broke the bond.

More than once, he’d wanted to find her, take her away, and hide her somewhere only

he could reach..

But every time he secretly appeared near her, he always saw the same thing: Dora desperately chased after Cassian. She even threw away her pride, lowered herself, and tried to please him no matter how badly she was treated

And every single time, Clive forced his reason back under control and quietly walked

away.

But today, Dora hhe had come to him herself. This time, he refused to let the chance slip away again.

Clive stared at the mark on Dora’s neck again, a dark sense of satisfaction flickering through his eyes. Then he pulled over the blanket nearby and gently covered her with it.

Sorry about the blood pact,he whispered beside her ear, his voice carrying a faint roughness he couldn’t quite hide. If you want, you can go to the Marriage Matching Center and apply to dissolve the bond,he added, though it wasn’t what he really wanted.

Dora was too exhausted to respond. Clive couldn’t tell whether she’d fallen unconscious or simply drifted asleep.

After standing there in silence for a long time, Clive quietly left the room.

He’d caught the faint scent of Cassian lingering on Dora’s body. He thought that the drugging incident definitely had something to do with Cassian.

Clive thought bitterly, How dare he drug Dora! I’ll rip every damn feather off that stupid peacock.

Dora was awakened by the morning light outside the window and the distant howls of alien beasts echoing across the city.

The chaotic, feverish memories from last night slammed back into her mind: the torment of the drug, Clive’s embrace, the kiss that never landed on her lips, and the sharp pain at her neck.

Her eyes flew open. Above her was an unfamiliar ceiling, decorated in a minimal style.

She turned her stiff neck, and a strange sensation spread from the spot where Clive

had bitten her.

Her trembling fingers slowly reached up. They touched two tiny raised scars. The skin around them still felt numb.

Then every memory returned at once, including the parts she’d almost forced herself to forget: The day she ran away from home at 18; the black snake she’d found hidden among alien plants near the roadside; its entire body had been pitchblack, the scales

dull and damaged, covered in wounds.

It had looked so weak, so close to death. Yet those vertical pupils had burned brightly

as they stared straight at her.

Back then, Dora had been furious at Iris for always overshadowing her. A dark little thought had crossed her mind. If I raise this snake, maybe one day it’ll actually be useful.

Thus, she brought the snake home. Using tweezers, she carefully cleaned its wounds. Staring at those cold eyes, she said in a bragging and warning tone, Little snake, I’m your owner now, okay? You gotta be good.

You look like nobody ever wanted you before. Just stay with me. I’ll raise you.

I’ll get you a premium nutrient drink. Bet you’ve never tried that before, huh?

Look, I specially bought you the psychic restoration fluid for cubs. It should work for a baby snake too, right?

Grow up fast. Once you’re bigger, you can protect me.

Next time Iris annoys me, you can bite her for me

Under Dora’s careful care, the snake grew healthier and healthier. It even started interacting with her. To build a bond with the snake, she ate with it, slept with it, and kept it wrapped around her arm almost every day.

Whenever she got the chance, she’d deliberately scare Iris with it.

But one day, when she woke up and saw the snake turn into a naked man right in front of her, she was terrified.

Those cruel words had slipped out before she even realized it.

Afterward, she regretted it deeply. She hadn’t known Clive was the very snake she’d saved. She’d wanted to tell him that she hadn’t hated him or looked down on him at all. She’d simply been frightened and spoken without thinking.

However, Clive never appeared in her life again. She thought he probably hated her to the guts.
