Chapter 61 Dividing The Crystal Cores
Gora announced, “Let’s start. Open the crystal cores first.
*Process the useful part and sort everything by category. We’ll take inventory afterward. We’ll keep the materials we can use, and we’ll sell the rest-far starcoins.”
Everyone divided the work and began processing the alien beast carcasses with practiced efficiency.
Clive and Lioren handled the tougher Level 4 and Level 5 alien beasts.
Milo, Rock, and Jaxsen dealt with the Level 3 alien beasts.
After resting for a while, Elmer joined in and took care of the lower-level ones.
Dora and Mindy were responsible for recording and sorting everything.
When Clive split open the skull of the first Level Five alien beast, a deep yellow earth-type Level 5 crystal core rolled out. It was the size of a dove egg, and its energy pulsed with a dense, astonishing force. Everyone held their breath.
Soon after, Lioren dug another crystal core from the body of a different Level 5 alien beast. This one glowed blue-violet, with the sharp, restless aura of lightning.
The third Level 5 crystal core came from a rare, smaller mutated Level Five alien beast. It was a pure shadow-type crystal core, deep and shadowed, as if it had swallowed all the light around it.
Three Level Five crystal cores in total!
And that was not the end of it. Level 4 and Level 3 crystal cores were extracted one after another, piling up on the specialized energy trays and glittering in every color.
The final count came to three Level 5 crystal cores, twelve Level 4 crystal cores, sixteen Level 3 crystal cores, forty-eight Level 2 crystal cores, and one hundred and five Level 1 crystal cores,
On top of that, they sorted out a large quantity of valuable alien beast materials, including hides, bones, claws, venom glands, and more. Once everything had been categorized, Dora and Mindy stored it all back into their Spatial Realms. “Oh, my God.” Mindy covered her mouth, her eyes wide with disbelief. She had never seen so many crystal cores at once in her life.
And there were so many high-level ones.
Elmer stood beside her, just as stunned.
Milo, Rock, and Jaxsen were excited, too, though most of their amazement came from how unbelievably “lucky” they had been today.
Clive remained composed, but a faint ripple stirred deep in his eyes.
This crystal core yield was unusually high.
He looked deeply at Dora, who was carefully wiping a crystal core clean.
Lioren flicked his tail. His amber eyes stayed fixed on the glittering pile of crystal cores, and once again, he sank into thought.
Dora forced down the wild pounding in her chest and drew a deep breath. “According to our agreement, both families split everything we earned today. No one has a problem with that, right?”
Mindy waved her hands at once. “No, that’s not fair. You came up with the plan. You set the tactics. Elmer saved us more than once. We only helped where we could. One-third is enough. No, one-fourth is enough.”
“Mindy, we agreed to split it evenly,” Dora said firmly. “Without your three beast mates fighting on the front line, we would never have gotten this much. We’re teammates, and we’re neighbors. We still have a long road ahead of us.”
This time, Mindy refused to be persuaded. She held to her principles.
“We can split the rest evenly, but not the crystal cores. All Level 5 crystal cores should go to your family. We’ll take three Level 4 crystal cores, and we can split the Level 3 and lower crystal cores evenly.”
Dora still wanted to object, but Mindy explained her reasoning.
“This split makes sense. The Level 4 and Level 5 alien beasts were all killed by your beast mates. Ours don’t have that kind of strength. Getting three Level 4 crystal cores is already more than enough, so don’t turn this into a fight.”
In the end, Mindy had her way. The most valuable crystal cores were divided according to her proposal. There were sixteen Level 3 crystal cores in total, and Dora insisted on giving Mindy’s family nine of them.
Chapter 61 Dividing the Crystal Cures
“Mindy, your family has three beast-mates. Three Level 3 crystal cores each might help them advance again, and that will help us in tomorrow’s match too.”
Once Dora put it that way, Mindy stopped refusing. In her heart, she approved of Dora even more. This younger female had vision, courage, and real resolve…
They sorted the crystalcores and precious materials into separate categories, disposed of the worthless remains, and soon the suite was clean again.
The joy on Dora’s side stood in sharp contrast to Iris’.
After returning to the hotel, Iris almost threw herself into Vivienne’s arms. Her mother had been waiting there the entire
time.
“Mom,” Iris cried, her voice shaking with terror.
Her carefully done makeup had long since run, and her white combat dress was splattered with mud.
She cried, “I don’t want to keep competing. It was horrible.
“Cassian didn’t care whether we lived or died. He sent Kevin and the others out like bait while he hid in the back. Nelson and the others were badly injured and carried away. Mom, I was so scared.”
Today, she had seen Cassian’s selfishness and cold heart with her own eyes. She had lived through the terror of being chased and surrounded by alien beasts, and every part of her felt drained.
Dora had once admired Cassian so much that Iris had naturally seen him as a hero, too.
Now that the image had shattered completely, leaving only fear and hurt behind.
Vivienne held her trembling daughter in her arms. Her heart ached for Iris, but a chill also crept through her.
The match was not over yet. The Shawn famputation and the Southwell family’s interests both had to be considered.
She patted Iris’ back and soothed her gently. “Don’t be scared, Iris. Mom’s here. Today really frightened you, didn’t it?” Iris finally found a sense of safety in Vivienne’s
arms. She sobbed as she said, “Mom, I don’t want to marry Cassian. He’s
terrifying.”
Vivienne stroked Iris’ back. When Iris’ crying eased a little, Vivienne chose her words carefully and said, “I know the match is dangerous. But since you have already entered it, quitting halfway would hurt both the Shawn family’s name and the Southwell family’s reputation.
“As for Cassian, I’ll speak to him. If he dares to ignore your safety again tomorrow, the Southwell family won’t let him off. “Here’s what we’ll do. I’ll prepare a few custom high-powered smoke bombs and signal flares for you to carry.
“When you go in tomorrow, if you sense any danger, or if Cassian abandons you again, release a smoke bomb immediately for cover. Then fire the emergency withdrawal flare. The judges will send people in right away to get you out.
“Your safety comes first. Do you understand?”
Still sniffling, Iris nodded in Vivienne’s arms.
“As for the engagement with Cassian,” Vivienne said, her eyes turning cold. “I have wanted to call it off for a long time. My daughter is not some option for others to pick and discard whenever they please.”
