Chapter 64 TeamLevel-Up
Chapter 64 Team Level-Up
The first light of morning slipped through the curtains. In the living room, the lingering energy from the night before had yet to fully settle, and the air still hummed with faint traces of the crystal core, now completely drained.
Clive opened his eyes slowly Deep in his dark pupils, a thin arc of electricity flickered and vanished.
The power of Moderate Level 5 coursed through his veins. He flexed his fingers, and his joints gave a soft, crackling pop. tiny sparks dancing across his knuckles.
He hadn’t slept a wink all night, but he felt completely alert. After a quick shower, he pulled on his combat suit and strode out of the room.
His gaze first fell on Lioren, who was still curled on the sofa.
The tabby cat was gone. In its place sat a large, powerful creature, built more like a lynx than any house cat, its lean body easily the size of a big dog.
Its fur shimmered with a cold, silvery luster, and its amber, vertical-pupiled eyes cut through the morning light like razor blades.
The energy radiating from it told Clive everything he needed to know. Lioren had just broken through to Level 5.
Clive’s eyes narrowed as he studied Lioren in silence. The cat had already advanced to Level Five, yet he still showed no desire to take human form. He remained perfectly content in his beast form, as though transforming had never even crossed his mind.
‘What exactly is this cat up to?’ The question lingered in Clive’s mind, only deepening his suspicion about Lioren’s identity and true intentions.
“Morning.” The greeting came in the form of a cool, distinctly youthful voice rumbling from the cat’s throat.
Lioren’s tail swished once, firm and deliberate, before his attention shifted toward Dora’s bedroom door.
Just then, Dora and Mindy emerged from the master bedroom.
“Whoa, Fuzzball! Since when were you this big? You look amazing.” The enormous feline in the center of the living room instantly stole all of Dora’s attention, and her eyes lit up with delight.
She rushed over without hesitation, crouched beside him, and immediately reached for the thick fur around Lioren’s head and neck, unable to resist rubbing her hands through it.
The moment she touched him in front of everyone, Lioren froze. His amber eyes widened slightly, and for a split second, he almost pulled away on instinct.
But Dora’s hands were warm, carrying a familiar comfort he had long since become helplessly fond of, and her touch was so light and eager that he couldn’t quite bring himself to avoid it.
His ears twitched despite himself, and a strange sound rumbled low in his throat, somewhere between a warning and a reluctant purr.
Even so, his body betrayed him completely. Not only did he stay where he was, he also subtly lowered his head to make her petting easier.
‘Fine,’ he thought. ‘Since you clearly adore my magnificent beast form this much, I suppose I’ll let you have your way. Just this once.’
Dora was completely hooked. Lioren’s fur felt unbelievably good under her hands, smooth and thick, with a cool silkiness that made it impossible to stop touching him.
Combined with his massive, intimidating appearance and the oddly stiff way he endured the attention, the effect was almost unfairly adorable.
Her grin only grew brighter. “Okay, your fur is amazing. And look at you. You’re seriously cool like this. Fuzzball suits you way too well.”
Lioren stared at her in silence for a beat before finally speaking.
“I already have a name,” he said flatly. “Lioren. Stop calling me Fuzzball.”
Dora blinked and then immediately caught the proud, slightly offended look on his face
She reached over and squished his face between her hands again. “Got it, Fuzz Lioren.
Elmer had just finished absorbing the crystal core and was still glowing with satisfaction at reaching the peak of Level 4. when he looked up and froze, the smile faltering on his face.

Before him stood the big cat, now formidable and imposing, ears turning red under Dora’s enthusiastic petting while it did
Life bent to maintain an air of stoic dignity. Elmer’s light brown eyes flickered with a complicated mix of envy and reluctant admiration.
‘She really seems to love fluffy beast forms, doesn’t she?’ he wondered, biting his lower lip as he sank into thought.
‘My beast form is a little white dog… sure, not as magnificent as Lioren’s current look, but compared to how dainty he used to be, I’d say we’re just as cute.
‘And my fur is just as soft. Maybe I should shift back too? She might like it, and then, who knows? She might even pet my head…”
The thought sent a faint flush across his cheeks, but he couldn’t help finding the idea tempting all the same.
Clive witnessed the entire scene from the sidelines-Dora’s unabashed affection for Lioren’s beast form, Lioren’s strained attempt to appear aloof while clearly basking in the attention, and now Elmer visibly agonizing over whether he too ought to shift into a little white dog.
Clive allowed himself the barest twitch of a smile. The quiet satisfaction he’d been savoring over his own recent breakthrough in power had somehow become laced with an elusive, unsettling feeling he couldn’t quite name. Picking up his glass of water from the table, he ran his fingertips absently along its rim and thought to himself, ‘Beast form? Please. Maybe next time I’ll just show up in my original form and coil around her.
‘When I was a little black snake, Dora used to keep me wrapped around her arm all day long.
‘Is that why this sly cat won’t shift back to human?’
Mindy watched Dora petting the cat in the living room and then turned to her own three beast mates, each of whom had clearly made significant strides in power and was now staring at her with barely contained eagerness.
A laugh escaped her before she could stop it. “Looks like everyone made some serious gains,” she said, interrupting their silent fixation. “Milo, Rock, Jaxsen, how are you all feeling?”
The question seemed to flip a switch in her three mates, who had been standing dumbstruck ever since witnessing the Dora family’s uniquely intimate style of interaction.
Milo was the first to shed the sharp, no-nonsense demeanor he maintained around outsiders, sidling up to Mindy with a note of proud anticipation in his voice.
“Mindy, I hit Level 4!” he said and then picked the reddest fruit from the bowl nearby, gave it a careful wipe, and held it to her lips. “How about we give it a try tonight?”
Rock was not about to be upstaged. His honest, plain face twisted into an earnest bid for approval as he flexed his now noticeably more imposing biceps. “Mindy, check this out. I’m way stronger now. Pinnacle Level 3!”
Jaxsen, as always, said nothing. But his wolfish eyes never left Mindy’s face, and behind him, his tail appeared to be swaying ever so slightly. “Mindy,” he finally said, his voice low and quiet. “Pinnacle Level 3 as well.”
The three men clustered around Mindy, the air between them thick with unspoken rivalry.
Dora finally released Lioren, whose ears had practically turned crimson by now, and rose to her feet with an announcement “All right, everyone’s leveled up across the board. That’s something worth celebrating. Let’s get a good meal in us, recharge our crystal energy, and show up for today’s match in peak condition.”
The others murmured their agreement and settled around the table to eat.
Elmer made a point of scooping food onte Dora’s plate before remembering that he had news to share
“Hey Dora, I hit Pinnacle Level 4,” he said. “That’s only one small tier below that peacock, Cassian
Dora’s smile was genuinely pleased. “That’s wonderful, Elmer. And you’ve got dual abilities. That makes you way stronger than him.”
Without drawing any attention to the gesture, Clive slid the jar of jam to the spot closest to Dora’s hand before speaking an his low, measured voice. “Moderate Level 5.”
