Chapter 510 Keep the Kid and Ditch the Dad
Isabelle noticed he looked disinterested and couldn’t bear to make him tag along with them.
“Why don’t you stay at the hotel and rest. We’ll go-” she started.

Damian squeezed toothpaste onto her toothbrush for her, then glanced at her. “Are you planning to keep the kid and ditch the dad?”
Isabelle was speechless. Ditch the dad? Where did he even pick up that phrase?
After everyone got ready, they met downstairs and headed towards the island together.
Damian, dressed in casual clothes, followed close behind Isabelle. “Can you manage the walk?” he asked.
Isabelle stopped for a moment to catch her breath, looking ahead at Diana and Brian who were already further up the path.
Lynn and Daisy were still behind them, busy taking pictures. Those two were truly on vacation, wearing summer dresses. Even in the dim pre–dawn light, Lynn managed to find good angles and used a light to take photos of Daisy.
Meanwhile, Bonita and the others had already reached Bridge Island and had started snapping photos there.
Isabelle looked at the sea, then back at Damian, and smiled, “I’m okay.”
She exercised regularly, so she could handle this short uphill walk.
“Hey! Hurry up! The sun’s about to rise! If you don’t hurry, you’ll miss it!” Diana yelled from above.
They continued their climb.
Lynn and Daisy caught up to them.
They reached the highest point of the island, where Lynn set up her camera.
The night hadn’t quite lifted yet. A sea breeze, cool and misty, drifted by. The deep blue sea faded into a pale, hazy glow along the horizon.
“They say if you watch the sunrise with someone you love, you’ll be happy forever,” Daisy said as she sat down on a large rock.
After adjusting the camera, Lynn sat down beside her and rested her head on Daisy’s shoulder. “Then I guess we’ll be happy together forever.”
Nearby, Brian and Diana sat under a large tree, not joining the others.
“This is nice,” Isabelle said softly.
Damian glanced at her, and they shared a brief smile.
He slipped an arm around her shoulders as they watched the crimson sun rise over the ocean. Warmth flooded over the peak, chasing off the chill at once.
The sea turned to liquid gold beneath the sunrise, each wave crest shimmering with dancing flecks of light. The whole world was bathed in the soft morning glow.

When it was over, Lynn gathered everyone for a group photo to remember the occasion. She also took individual pictures of each person before they all went their separate ways
Isabelle and Damian didn’t go with the others. Isabelle was starting to feel hungry, so they found a place to sit in a nearby scenic spot, planning to grab a bite before exploring further.
They sat down in a small restaurant that sold pasta.
By the time the owner brought out the pasta, Isabelle was so hungry her eyes were glued to the food.
Damian smiled, picked up a fork, and began tossing the pasta for her. “Want some hot sauce?” he asked.
“Just a little,” Isabelle said, snuggling close to him and leaning against his arm.
By the time the owner brought out the second plate, Damian had finished tossing the first one.
He slid the plate over to Isabelle. “Careful, it’s hot.”
Isabelle took the fork from him and started eating with relish.
Actually, Damian had brought some snacks with him, but they were all sweet, packaged pastries that Isabelle found too cloying at first glance.
“This lasagna bolognese tastes really authentic,” Isabelle said between bites.
“You’ve had authentic lasagna bolognese before?” Damian asked as he tossed his own pasta.
Isabelle nodded. “Yeah, Anthony took us to try it before. It’s his favorite.”
Damian’s fork froze mid–toss.
Halfway through her meal, Isabelle noticed his slowed pace. “What’s wrong? Don’t you like it?” she asked.
He shook his head. “No.”
He’d lost his appetite.
Isabelle finished her pasta and still wanted more.
“Want another one?” Damian asked.
“Yes,” Isabelle said with a smile, patting her stomach.
Damian pushed his own barely touched pasta over to her.
Isabelle looked at him. “You’re not eating?”
“You have it,” he said.
Isabelle asked, “Are you going bankrupt or something?”
Damian found that amusing. “When did I say I was going bankrupt?”
Isabelle frowned at him. “If you’re not bankrupt, why aren’t you eating breakfast? You look like the world is ending.”
