He leaned down and kissed each of their foreheads one by one, then stroked Daisy’s hair gently. /Wait for me at home.”

“Okay,” Daisy smiled and glanced at the faint mark smudged on the collar of his shirt.

She’d left it there on purpose the night before.

Anthony had already noticed it while brushing his teeth that morning, yet he’d done nothing to wipe it off.

“Honey,” Daisy called out just as he turned to leave.

His eyes filled with soft tenderness as he looked over at her. “What is it?”

“I’ve had a question I’ve been meaning to ask you,” Daisy said. “Did you pick up your car on the exact same day I got mine?”

Anthony nodded. “Yeah.”

“You bought the same car as me because you knew I’d gotten this one?” Daisy asked.

He nodded again. “That’s right.”

She looked at him with a touch of pride. “When did you start keeping an eye on me?”

Without realizing it, Anthony had always stayed nearby, no matter where Daisy went.

It all began the first time he’d seen her across the lotus pond during a get–together with Damian and the others. She’d instantly taken his breath away, and he’d watched over her ever since.

Daisy, capable of vying with Lucas over someone, was indeed quite unexpected.

Daisy hadn’t even known who Anthony was at that point in time.

Later, he’d draped his suit jacket over her shoulders, and the tiny red mole on her neck had stirred his heart deeply.

Still, he’d never dared face his feelings for Daisy directly. He’d simply grown used to everyone teasing him -saying his girlfriend had come again–and even started imagining it was true.

He rarely got the chance to talk to her back then, but he always left little pieces of himself around her

anyway.

There was the suit he never asked back for, the Rolls–Royce umbrella, and even the tie he’d once used to cover her eyes.

Anthony knew he’d quietly planned every little move all along.

“Anthony, your mind’s wandering off again,” Daisy teased. “You still haven’t answered my question.”

Daisy found it quite amusing. Anthony always stared at her with such loving eyes whenever he zoned out like this.

Anthony said nothing. He leaned down to kiss her, sliding his hands slowly around her waist as their kiss turned soft and lingering.

Lyra lay in Daisy’s arms and babbled loudly. She reached out to push at Anthony’s cheek, trying to pull the

two apart.

Anthony paid no attention to her and deepened the kiss even more.

He only pulled back when Lyra started patting his cheek and tapping at his head.

A faint smile curved Anthony’s lips. He brushed his thumb lightly over Daisy’s mouth, then glanced down at Lyra beside them.

He tapped Lyra’s tiny nose gently. “Little troublemaker. Already jealous, huh?”

Anthony kissed Lyra, then pressed a soft kiss to Luna’s forehead, before letting his gaze settle back on Daisy.

Daisy pressed her lips tight, flustered and lightheaded from his kisses.

He reached up to cup her cheek. “The exact time doesn’t matter. All that matters is you know you’re in my heart.”

“Oh…” Daisy murmured, her heart beating wildly out of rhythm.

Right then, a hint of melancholy settled over Anthony’s expression. “You never say you like me. Do you truly not have feelings for me, or do you only see me as the kids‘ father?”

Daisy could tell he was on the verge of tears.

She took hold of Anthony’s hand softly. “It’s not like that.”

“Then what is it?” Anthony asked quietly.

“I… I like you, too…” Her voice was barely audible, and she couldn’t bring herself to meet his eyes.

Anthony had heard every word clearly, yet he leaned down to lock eyes with her, feigning uncertainty. “Hmm?”

“You’re so annoying, Anthony.” Daisy frowned and spoke in a flustered tone. “I said, I like you, too.”

A satisfied smile tugged at Anthony’s mouth as he looked at her.

Daisy quickly pushed him toward the door. “Alright, hurry up and leave for work now.”

Anthony suddenly had no desire to head out to work at all.

Later that day, they received a wedding invitation from Joseph and Grace.
