Chapter 722 Lock Her Up for Good
He’d never thought another woman would end up washing his underwear for him.

His mind drifted back to the bathroom the night before. He’d seen rows of her skincare and bath products lined up there, and he’d even used her shampoo and body wash himself.
Every time he’d showered afterward, his thoughts kept drifting to the image of Claudia bathing in that very bathroom.
His heart was thrown into complete disarray.
How could I be so shameless? I can’t even take a shower without thinking about her.
Megan Haney, the maid, glanced at the untouched pumpkin soup in front of Harold and asked cautiously, “Mr. Cross, is the soup not to your liking? I can fix you something else if you want.”
Harold snapped out of his daze. “No need.”
Megan held her tongue and didn’t dare ask further.
This was the first time Harold, the master of the house, had stayed the night–and he’d even slept on the sofa. Now he sat there lost in thought, not touching his food at all.
She figured he must have quarreled with Claudia and was moping over their fight.
Harold only picked up his spoon and started eating the second Claudia walked downstairs.
Neither of them exchanged a word. Megan tactfully stepped away to busy herself with other chores around the house.
Just as Harold had expected, the police showed up soon after.
They didn’t come inside, merely waiting quietly at the front gate.
Claudia thought it inappropriate to keep them waiting and prepared to head out right away.
Harold stopped her, telling her to finish her soup first.
She hurried through the bowl and finished eating quickly. Harold, by contrast, took his time walking upstairs to change clothes.
When he came back down, he was dressed in a tailored formal suit.
Claudia stared at him, frozen for several long seconds.
He looked cold and elegant in formal wear–carrying an untouchable aura that was impossible to ignore.
Claudia blinked.
He’s so handsome… If only his skin weren’t so tanned.

Harold walked straight toward her, and nervousness fluttered through her chest.

His presence carried an overwhelming sense of pressure. Harold turned his head and looked at her, asking, “Scared?”
Claudia whispered, “Yeah.”
Harold pressed on, “Scared of me, or scared of the police?”
Claudia pressed her lips tight.
I’m scared of both.
She gave him no answer.
Harold let out a low laugh.
Claudia followed closely behind him, rushing to keep pace with his long strides.
She wore loose casual pants and a plain crew–neck T–shirt, her hair tied in a low, messy bun with a few stray strands falling loosely by her cheeks, looking gentle and frail, soft and unassuming.
Claudia got into the police car, and Harold’s vehicle followed right behind it.
Once they arrived at the station, she spotted Imogen and her group right away.
Imogen glared at Claudia and snapped harshly, “You bitch. I’ve hunted for you for a whole month. Finally got you in my sight.”
She lunged forward, ready to grab her.
Claudia flinched to the side instinctively at the sight of Imogen’s vicious expression.
Before the police could intervene, several bodyguards with Harold stepped in and blocked Imogen beside the officers.
A nearby officer quickly pulled Imogen back, warning her not to obstruct official police work.
Jaden shot Claudia a disdainful look and chided Imogen, “Mom, stop throwing a scene. She’ll get what she deserves soon enough. Don’t humiliate yourself here now.”
He shot Claudia a sharp warning glance, silently telling her not to get complacent.
The officer escorting Claudia glanced blankly at the group, then led her straight into the station without another word.
At that moment, Harold and Howard walked past them.
Harold’s gaze swept briefly over Imogen, then looked away.
Imogen froze in place, her eyes going empty and dazed. A cold chill crept up from behind, wrapping

around her entire body in an instant.
She couldn’t help shivering.
There was a terrifying, intimidating power in his stare.
His eyes were sharp with quiet menace.
All of Imogen’s arrogance vanished in an instant.
Claudia sat alone in the interrogation room, a cup of water placed beside her.
She followed Harold’s advice and answered every question honestly.

Finally, the officer asked, “There’s a bank card numbered 9429. A minimum of ten thousand dollars is deposited into it on the fifteenth of every month. Can you explain the source of this money?”
She fell into deep thought. She’d only ever owned one bank card her entire life–all her income and daily spending went through that single account.
Claudia said calmly, “I only have one bank card.”
The officer said nothing and handed her the transaction records.
She stared in shock–her own name was listed as the cardholder.
The officer went on to ask dozens more questions, all centered on this mysterious card.
Claudia kept repeating that she only had one personal bank card.
Eventually, all the officers stepped out, leaving Claudia alone in the interrogation room.
She had no idea how long she waited there, her heart heavy with restless anxiety.
Outside, Harold wore a dark, grim expression. He clutched the transaction slip tightly in his hand, crinkling the paper until it creaked under his grip.
Harold ordered. “Find out who’s behind this card.”
Moments later, Howard checked the data on his tablet and replied, “It’s Imogen.”
Harold gritted his teeth and nodded slowly, the document in his hand crumpled completely from his tight grip.
Howard commented, “She has never even gotten to spend any of that money herself.”
Harold bit out each word coldly and deliberately, “Lock her up for good.”
It was already late evening when Claudia was released.
