Chapter 866 Twenty Thousand for Advice
Harold and Harvey both turned to look at her.
She…” Harvey began, then trailed off.
Henrietta took a deliberate breath. “Wire the money first.”
He let out a scoff. “Seriously? That’s your best friend. You’re making a profit off her love life?”

“Hold on–she’s your assistant. You found out about this mess, and now you want my help. Of course I’m charging you. Why should I get stuck in the middle and get yelled at by both sides for free?”
“You little hustler—” Harvey pulled out his phone, tapped a few times, and sent her twenty thousand
dollars.
“She isn’t causing drama, but if you really want to lift her spirits… I’ve got an idea.” Henrietta’s lips curved into a faint, knowing smile.
“What idea?” Harvey frowned, already skeptical.
Henrietta held up her payment screen again. “Call it a consulting fee. Send a little more, and I’ll tell you.”
“Henrietta, you’ve got some nerve.”
Harvey shook his head, turned, and slid into the driver’s seat.
Harold couldn’t help but chuckle from the back.
She panicked. “Wait, wait! We can negotiate! I’ll lower the price!”
But Henrietta had already opened the passenger door and climbed in beside Harvey.
The car eased into motion, heading out toward the countryside.
“Fine. Maybe someone else should handle it then,” Harvey muttered.
He hadn’t even decided whether to get involved yet, and he was already twenty grand lighter.
“I might’ve said a few things to her earlier… things I probably shouldn’t have. Want to hear?” Henrietta stole a glance at him as he drove.
“No,” Harvey said flatly.
She went on anyway. “I told her she should consider you. You know–become my sister–in–law.”
“Screech-
Harvey slammed the brakes.
“Ow-!” Henrietta rubbed her forehead where she’d bumped the dashboard.

Cars behind them slowed one by one, a few drivers craning their necks to see what had happened
“What did you just say to her?” Harvey’s voice was tight, his brows knitted together.
“I told her to think about you. I mean, it’s not like you’re out there looking for someone. You’re not getting any younger. You two could make it work–easy. You do your thing, she does hers…”
Henrietta trailed off as she watched Harvey’s expression därken.
Harvey took a slow, deep breath. Once again, she’d managed to get under his skin.
Then he forced himself to calm down.
He glanced in the rearview mirror at Damian and Harold, who were about to get out of their car, and hi the gas again.
As soon as they started moving, Harold called. Harvey picked up, said “It’s nothing,” and kept driving.
“Stay out of my personal life,” Harvey said, eyes fixed ahead. “Dolores is still young. Even if things don’t work out with Carson, it won’t be me. Don’t joke about that again. If word got around, it wouldn’t look good for either of us.”
Henrietta pouted. “I wasn’t joking. I really like Dolores. Mom and Dad adore her. Zander loves her too. The whole family thinks she’s great.”
“Get out of the car.”
“I’m not getting out. I’ll stop talking.” Henrietta gripped her seatbelt tightly.
Dolores was right–lately, Harvey was acting like he was going through some kind of midlife crisis. Flying off the handle over nothing.
These days, anything small was like lighting a match near gasoline,
“Don’t mention any of this to Mom and Dad,” he ordered.
“Got it.”
Henrietta pressed her lips together.
If Damian and Isabelle caught wind of this at Harvey’s age, Damian would probably have a matchmaking dinner arranged by nightfall.

“What did your brother say?” Claudia asked Harold as they followed behind in their own car.
Harold smiled wryly. “My guess? Henrietta messed things up again. Or maybe she tried to ‘help‘ and just
made it worse.”
Earlier, Claudia had suggested she could talk to Dolores too. But Harvey had brushed it off–said it wasn’t

that big a deal, that he’d just tell Dolores the truth when the time came. No need to turn it into a whole production.
But Henrietta had a talent for taking a simple situation and making it complicated.
No wonder Harold was always having to talk her down from one drama or another.

When they arrived at the family’s country house, Regina and Louis were already waiting outside by the
gate.
The house sat nestled at the foot of a gentle hill, a small creek running nearby. All around were tidy vegetable patches and fruit trees, and a little farther off, chickens and ducks pecked and waddled freely.
Over by the pond, a small gaggle of geese glided across the water.
“Mommy! Look!” Zander yelled, bouncing excitedly in his seat.
Claudia followed his pointing finger.
