Sweet Flash Marriage with the Restrained Tycoon (Isabelle and Damien) novel Chapter 912

Chapter 912 The Girlfriend Question

Harvey gazed at her, feeling as though an entire era had slipped by since he had been ensnared in that nightmare. For what felt like an eternity, he had been trudging across a frozen sea, the shore forever remaining out of reach.

And the entire time, a figure had lingered just ahead, calling out to him. He had struggled to rouse himself, but his eyelids had felt like lead-he couldn’t summon a shred of strength.

“Hey,” Claudia said softly.

Harvey had shed some weight. His cheekbones looked more defined now, and his pale complexion only made him seem more fragile-it was honestly gut-wrenching to see him this way.

He drew a slow breath and sank back against the pillows. “You’ve been dragged through the wringer because of me.”

Claudia shook her head and extended a glass of water toward him.

“How’s Mom?” Harvey asked, his mind immediately drifting to the situation back home.

“You actually heard all that?” She was taken aback, though mostly just relieved that he had finally snapped out of it.

“I caught everything, but…” It felt like an invisible weight was pressing down on him, anchoring him to the spot, making every movement an immense effort.

Claudia gently interjected. “Mom’s pretty much back to her old self now.”

Harvey nodded and began inquiring about the rest of the family and how things were holding up at the office.

She brought him up to speed on all the details.

Eventually, his questions trailed off, and Claudia knew exactly what-or rather, who he was hesitant to ask about.

“For the last two weeks, Dora’s been here practically every night, keeping a vigil by your side,” she informed him. “She wasn’t feeling too hot today, but she mentioned she’d swing by later.”

“What’s wrong with her?” Harvey hadn’t fully recovered his strength, but the anxiety in his eyes was unmistakable.

“She…” Claudia couldn’t bring herself to say it. “You’re better off asking her yourself when she gets here

Speak of the devil-Dolores walked in right at that moment, her tote bag draped over one shoulder.

She froze in her tracks for a split second before realizing Harvey was conscious.

She rushed over to the bedside, exhaling sharply, “You… you’re up…”

Harvey stared at Dolores, then pivoted to Claudia with a totally vacant expression “Who is this woman?”

“Huh?” Claudia was completely blindsided.

Before she could manage a response, Dolores perched on the edge of the mattress and waved a hand directly in front of Harvey’s face.

“Did you take that hard of a blow to the head? You don’t even recognize me” she owned, fighting the urge to add that she was practically his mother at this point

Sure, she had wanted him to wake up-but not if it meant he was going to turn into a vegetable,

Now he didn’t even know who she was?

“Claudia, this person is acting really weird. Who is she?” Harvey’s performance was convincing-he genuinely looked like a prime candidate for a psychiatric evaluation.

Stick him in a hospital gown, and no one would question it.

Claudia stifled a laugh. “She’s your girlfriend.”

“Huh?” That time, Harvey’s reaction wasn’t an act.

He was genuinely floored by Claudia’s answer.

Beside him, the color rose in Dolores’ cheeks, and she shot a glare at Claudia. “What are you talking about?”

Claudia kept her face perfectly innocent. “You aren’t going to dump him just because Harvey bumped his head, are you?”
