Chapter 279 Clear Things Up
Far away on Heartlake Island, Evelyn suddenly sneezed. Rubbing her nose, she muttered, “Who’s thinking about me?”
Meanwhile, at Whitewood Estate, Jasmine didn’t think much of Seraphina’s questions. Smiling, she said, “I’m not exactly sure, but I’ll ask Jack for you later.”
Seraphina smiled and added, “Alright. Jasmine, who did my Mom ask to find me back then? They found me so quickly–I should thank them properly.”
“Miss Seraphina, I understand your intentions, but it’s really not necessary. They were just doing their job for money.”
“It’s okay. I’d still like to know who they are. My head was a mess when I first came back, and I never thought about these things. Now that I do, I’d like to find out about it.” Seraphina’s tone remained light and cheerful.
“I’m not sure who it was. However, your third uncle from the Kennedy Family came by quite frequently during that time.”
“Do you mean Rowan’s Dad?” Seraphina asked in surprise.
“Yes.”
After finishing the stuff, Seraphina helped Jasmine clean up the kitchen.
A maid hurried over when she saw Seraphina leaving the kitchen. “Miss Seraphina, Mr. Whitewood wants to see you in the study.”
Seraphina noticed Aidan was already there when she pushed open the study’s door.
Oberon gestured for her to sit as she entered and handed her a document. “Take a look.”
Seraphina flipped through a few pages and then looked up. “Why is the harbor zone up for auction? Dad, didn’t you prepare in advance?”
Oberon sighed. “Don’t even mention it. We gave them plenty of gifts and were about to secure the zone, but then the leadership changed. The new person doesn’t respond to bribes and insists on holding the auction.”
The money and villas the Whitewood Family had previously invested were now unrecoverable, and they gained nothing in return.
It was a complete waste of effort, and Seraphina wasn’t surprised by this outcome.

Chapter 2ery Clear Tinys up

In her past life, a well–known real estate company in Pyrin received early insider information and poured in gifts and money, only to lose everything when they were about to succeed.
Then, that company soon faced a financial crisis and tried to recover its money from the official in charge.
In the end, the incident became widely known, and the official was arrested. The company itself also faced severe repercussions.
The official’s backers were even worse. They were once friends and took advantage of the situation. With just a little push, the already precarious company disappeared from Pyrin entirely.
Seraphina had hoped Oberon would make a similar foolish mistake. Unfortunately, he wasn’t as stupid as she expected.
However, it didn’t really matter to her anymore. Her true goal lay elsewhere, and this was just a way to make the Whitewood Group bleed a little.
“Dad, why did you call me here?” Seraphina asked, feigning confusion.
“I want you and Aidan to attend the auction together this time. Both of you should review these plots of land and decide which one would be the best fit for our company.”
Eager to outshine Seraphina, Aidan analyzed the options carefully and was the first to speak. “The plot near the coastline is undoubtedly the best. It’s an excellent choice, whether for villas or mixed–use residential buildings. With its prime riverside view, it will fetch a high price.”
Aidan presented his case confidently while Oberon listened quietly without commenting.
Then, he turned to Seraphina and asked, “What do you think, Seraphina?”
After a moment of thought, Seraphina pointed to a centrally located plot. “I think this one is the best.”
Aidan immediately let out a derisive laugh. “You didn’t just pick it because it’s the biggest, did you? How shallow.”
All three people in the room heard it loud and clear, though his final remark was muttered under his breath.
