Oberon stared at the bid board in front of him. Beneath the photo of Linara, he wrote down a number. Then, under the picture of Seraphina, he wrote down double the price.
The bald man raised an eyebrow as he saw the price. “This is the highest price I’ve encountered so far,” he remarked, his voice laced with curiosity. “Mr. Whitewood, aren’t you worried there won’t be any bids? If no one bids, isn’t it a waste of such a beauty?”
“Good goods aren’t afraid of being expensive,” Oberon replied confidently. He picked up his glass and drank it down in one smooth motion.
An hour later, the people at the venue received a notice and began to leave the banquet hall. Linara watched as everyone departed, feeling confused.
“Why is everyone leaving?” she asked, stopping a woman she recognized.
The woman smiled and shrugged. “We’re heading back to our rooms. We’ll come out again later.”
Linara found it strange but followed the crowd out of the banquet hall.
Two receptionists stepped forward, smiling at Seraphina and Linara. “Miss Linara, Miss Seraphina, please come with us.”
The two women followed the receptionists as they made their way up to the penthouse. They continued forward until they reached the door at the end of the corridor, where they finally stopped.
One of the receptionists turned to Linara. “Miss Linara, this is your room. The best part of the evening will start soon. We wish you a pleasant time.”
Linara was even more puzzled, wondering if there was some special performance. She wanted to ask but feared it might seem naive. So, she nodded knowingly, trying to appear understanding.
The other receptionist guided Seraphina to the room next door. “Miss Seraphina, this is your room. Enjoy yourself.”
As Seraphina heard the underlying meaning in those words, a smile tugged at the corner of her lips.
Once inside, the door closed automatically behind her.
The room was incredibly spacious, with panoramic windows offering an unbeatable sea view. The living room and bedroom were both vast, with the highlight being the large bed in the bedroom. It was a soft, playful water bed designed for intimacy.
The service here was certainly thorough.
Seraphina checked the room carefully to ensure there were no hidden listening devices or cameras. Satisfied, she relaxed on the sofa to wait.
About an hour later, the door opened. A middle–aged man with a round face and bulging ears walked in.
Upon seeing Seraphina, the man’s face lit up with a smile. “Miss Whitewood.”

“Hello, Seraphina greeted with a smile, waving her hand at him.
The man froze for a moment, slightly taken aback. She wasn’t surprised at his presence at all.
Could it be that she already knew the rules of this place?
If that were the case, it would take some of the fun out of it.
The man’s heart skipped a beat. He had paid a high price to acquire this woman, hoping for someone fresh and untouched. If she was anything but that, he wouldn’t be pleased.
Although suspicion stirred in his mind, he didn’t rush to ask the event organizers for an explanation. He decided to inspect the goods first.
If she wasn’t what he had hoped for, there would be time to complain later.
The middle–aged man looked at the beauty in front of him, licking his lips as he smiled. “Miss Whitewood, you’re truly stunning.”
‘I’m curious,” Seraphina said with a playful smile. “How should I address
you, sir?”
The greasy man grinned widely. “My surname is Jenkins. You can call me David.”
‘Oh, so it’s Mr. Jenkins,” she replied, her tone laced with mock politeness. “How rude of me. May I ask how much you bid?”
