310 Jason Drakon Collapses
Jason took a deep breath, cutting off the suffocating conversation.
Chrome Dome sat on the leather sofa inside the premium lounge. His legs trembling as he cast uneasy glances toward the door. His gaze flickered nervously to the black man with a gun.
His heart pounded as he prayed. Miss Seraphina, please be safe!
The wait was unbearable.
Twenty minutes later, Jason strode in with Seraphina. As Chrome Dome saw them, relief washed over him like a tidal wave.
I don’t have to die! Chrome Dome nearly burst into tears of joy.
“Miss Seraphina!” he called out excitedly.
Jason settled onto the sofa and crossed his legs casually. His sharp gaze pinned Chrome Dome in place. “Let’s talk about Seraphina’s compensation for emotional distress.”
The words rang in his ears like a death sentence. He remembered Seraphina’s 19th birthday too well. That was when the Thomsons, the Harts, and the Gardners suffered immense loss.
This time would be no different. He braced himself for the inevitable.
Chrome Dome forced a flattering smile. “Last month, I bought a pair of ancient jade bracelets at an auction in Straya. They’d look perfect on Miss Seraphina–absolutely stunning.”
After he spoke, he instinctively gazed at Jason. But Jason’s expression remained unreadable. Chrome Dome’s heart sank.
Damn it! Does he still want more? I’ve spent a staggering 18 million on those jade bracelets.
Clenching his teeth, he continued. “I nearly forgot. I have shares in the Whitewood Group as well. They’re of no real value to me, so I’d like to gift them to Miss Seraphina as a token of respect. I hope she’ll accept this humble offering.”
He looked at Jason again and noticed the faintest relaxation in his brow. Relief surged through Chrome » Dome. Finally. Thank goodness!
With the matter settled, Jason took Seraphina as they left the ship. Chrome Dome watched their retreating figures and muttered. Bandit Jason is gone at last!
Lone Wolf stepped forward, patted his shoulder, and said coldly, “Watch yourself next time. You can’t offend everyone. This is your first and last warning.”
If Chrome Dome dared to mess up again, money wouldn’t be enough to settle things next time.
“Yes, of course.” He nodded repeatedly. He dared not provoke Seraphina again. He valued his life far too
much for that.
As Seraphina and Jason returned to Pyrin, things took a darker turn for Linara and Oberon on the ship. The next morning, Linara woke up in bed, staring at the bruises on her body with eyes full of resentment and hatred. Why did they do this to me? I’m a fool for not knowing!
At that moment, she hated everyone in the Whitewood Family, including Chloe and Aidan. I’ll make all of them pay! They’ll be so dead!
In the next room, Oberon woke up from the sharp pain radiating from his body. The moment he tried to move, the excruciating pain made him suck in a cold breath.
David woke up beside him. When he saw Oberon, his face turned pale.
“Why are you here? What did you do to me?” David roared, scrambling back in horror.
Oberon’s expression was even darker, with blue and purple bruises covering his face. He was clearly the victim. Yet, before he could even lash out, David had already turned the tables and played the victim.
