Evie’s pov

Ryan….has claimed me in front of everyone. He has claimed me publicly. This would cause a stir in the werewolf world.

My mind rushes and all I could think about is getting out of here but the reporters wouldn’t stop shouting. Questions came from every direction while flashes from the cameras nearly blinded me. Atlas buried his face against my neck anxiously and whimpered again.

“Did Alpha Ryan cheat on Luna Kimberly with you?” Their questions were now directed at me.

“How long have you been hiding the child?”

“Will the Silver Blood pack accept you as Luna?”

My heart clenched painfully at every question being thrown towards me..

Ryan’s hand suddenly tightened around mine and his scent wrapped around me protectively as he pushes me back. “We’re done here,” he growled coldly however one brave reporter immediately shouted another question before we could leave.

“So it’s official that she will replace Luna Kimberly soon!?”

Ryan stopped moving and then slowly turns around. “Evie is not replacing anyone,” he said dangerously. “She was always meant to stand beside me. She is already Luna of the Silver Blood pack.”

My heart nearly stopped working in my chest. “Ryan,” I whispered in horror, staring at him. What had he done?

I shook my head, backing away and Gavin with a growl pushes through the people and makes them part for me to head inside. the pack house. The second the door closes behind us, I let out a sigh of relief as the voices outside grow faint.

“What the hell was that?” Gavin hissed, moving towards the window, pulled the curtains aside and peeks.” There are so many of them…..how did they even get here? Why would they…..someone must’ve planned this.”

Atlas who clung to me anxiously, still trembles in my hold. I tightened my arms around Atlas immediately and pressed a kiss against his soft curls. “It’s okay baby,” I whispered softly even though my own heart was racing violently. “You’re okay.”

Atlas buried his face deeper into my neck and nodded shakily.

Serena paced anxiously inside me. ‘Something feels wrong.’

I agreed.

This didn’t feel random.

The reporters had arrived too quickly and way too prepared. They knew exactly what questions to ask. They even knew about Atlas.

Someone had tipped them off. That was the only explanation.

Gavin cursed again under his breath as he glanced outside through the curtains. “They’re still filming,” he muttered. “And more vehicles are pulling up. It’s a shit show outside.”

“They were live,” Lisa murmurs in shock and turns her phone screen to face us. They were indeed live.

I swallowed hard, my stomach twisting as I grew nauseous. Wonderful. Fucking wonderful. Now everyone saw Ryan claim me after Kimberly escaped.

The front doors suddenly opened behind us and Ryan stepped inside with a dangerous expression carved onto his face. The second his eyes landed on Atlas trembling in my arms, his expression softened instantly.

“I’m not sure who called the press over,” Ryan said softly as if he was afraid any louder would cause Atlas to get frightened

“What’s the use now when your words have already caused damage!?” I snapped before thinking. He flinches and Atlas also stirs, his little heart racing in his chest.

“You just claimed me publicly in front of the entire werewolf world,” I whispered harshly. “Do you have any idea what you’ve just done?”

Ryan held my gaze steadily despite the anger in my voice. “Yes,” he answered quietly. “I do. I’ve claimed my true mate.”

My words got cut off when Gavin suddenly uttered in shock and confusion. “Uh I think you two need to see this,” he looked away from the window to spare us a look. “There’s a man going over to speak to the reporters. He’s barely able to walk but they’re going over to him. His scent……his aura…….” Gavin drawled with pinched brows as he peers down at me.

My heart sank at the look on his face and it pained even more when I heard his voice through Lisa’s phone. My dad. The man was my dad.

“Beta Gold, glad to see that you’re still alive after the brutal attack on the Silver Blood pack. Any words for the newly mated couple?” The reporter asked and I stiffened.

The reporter shoved the microphone closer toward my father. “Beta Gold, did you know Alpha Ryan fathered a child with your youngest daughter while mated to your oldest daughter, Luna Kimberly?”

I waited with battered breath to hear what he’d say. I knew he wouldn’t be kind. Hell, he never was. Especially that night he blamed me for Margaret’s death even though I know by now they have confirmed it was Kimberly who murdered her.

“My youngest daughter has always been trouble,” He said coldly and his jaw clenched harshly. “Ever since she was born, chaos followed her everywhere. My family was destroyed because of her existence.”

The reporter blinked rapidly before asking unsurely. “Beta Gold…..are you blaming Evie Gold for the collapse of Alpha Ryan and Luna Kimberly’s mating?”

Dad laughed bitterly as if he was mocking me. “She’s a curse,” he said without hesitation. “My eldest daughter was supposed to become one of the greatest Lunas this generation had ever seen,” he said harshly. “Then Evie came along and ruined everything like she always does.”

Lisa gasped softly and Gavin swore under his breath. Even Atlas pulled back slightly in my arms as if sensing my pain.

After years of trying to not feel weak…..now I do.

“What the hell is happening outside?” Kwan and Quincy came rushing downstairs, looking confused.

“She was born weak,” Father spat with hatred. “Couldn’t summon a wolf for years. Embarrassed our bloodline repeatedly. Then suddenly she disappears and returns with Alpha Ryan’s bastard child while my other daughter loses everything.”

“Enough,” Ryan growled murderously, already heading to the door but was stopped by Gavin quickly.

“If you harm him on live TV, it wouldn’t be good for you and the pack. The council-

“I don’t give a damn about the pack or the council right now!” Ryan roars.” He is disrespecting my mate on TV

Atlas whimpered and buried himself deeper into my chest while Quincy immediately rushed over beside me protectively Her eyes flickered toward Lisa’s phone before pure fury twisted across her face.

“What the fuck?” she snarled. “Is he insane?!”

“She was always jealous of Kimberly,” Father continued coldly. “Always lurking around Alpha Ryan despite knowing Kimberly was chosen for him. My oldest daughter sacrificed everything for that pack while Evie selfishly destroyed it.

I blinked back the tears as my father stood proudly on the screen as he tears me down. Ryan suddenly jerked against Gavin’s grip again, his dark eyes glowing dangerously red. “Move,” he growled murderously.

“You go out there and attack him on live television, then the council will use it against you,” Gavin snapped harshly. “Think for one damn second Ryan! They will see you as unfit to lead your pack!”
