The Alpha Who Never Loved Me (Serena and Kieran) novel Chapter 100

Chapter 100

Kieran

I woke to Serena’s face.

Her eyes were closed, her lips parted, her lashes dark against her cheeks. Cora purred inside me; the warmth spread through my chest, a heat I forgot existed.

Waking up beside her, seeing her face first, before the ceiling, before the light, before anything else – I missed this. I missed it with every cell in my body, every beat of my heart, every breath I drew for months in an empty bed.

Until this moment, I did not understand the depth of that longing.

She slept with her hands tied; the fabric wrapped around her wrists, her arms stretched to the edges of the bedframe.

The position was uncomfortable; her shoulders were stiff, her neck angled wrong. My chest ached watching her sleep this way.

But if I untied her, she would leave. She would disappear through the front door before I blinked, take my child

with her.

I could not risk that.

Her eyes fluttered open.

The second they focused on me, they hardened; the warmth I saw in her sleep vanished, replaced by a cold glare.

She turned her face away from me, pressed her cheek into the pillow, deciding not to look at me.

I walked to the bathroom, had my bath an then returned. I dressed in the bedroom while she lay there with her face turned to the wall.

“I’m going to call the house help,” I said. “She’ll come in, clean up, bring you food. I’m not leaving until she

arrives.”

She did not respond.

I heard my phone ringing on the nightstand..

Mark.

“What is it?” I asked.

“Good morning, Alpha. Your grandfather is requesting your presence this morning.”

“For what?”

“He said it’s urgent. He’s asking you to come to the Alpha

house.”

Every muscle in my body resisted; I did not want to leave this room, did not want to walk into another conversation where my family dissected my marriage.

I hung up, turned to Serena.

“I have to go.” The words were even hard for me to utter as they reflected the part of me that did not want to leave. “Something came up.”

“I’m tied down.” Her voice was hoarse, raw from a night gf silence. “I have nowhere to go. At least untie me.”

I looked at her wrists, then at her face, then at the door.

“No.” I shook my head. “You’re going to run the second these bindings come off.”

“Kieran-”

“Be patient. Stay calm. I’ll be back soon.”

I leaned down, pressed my lips to her forehead; her skin was warm beneath my mouth, her body rigid against the

touch.

Cora howled inside me; my wolf wanted more, wanted to press my mouth to hers, wanted to take her right here, right now, wanted to lose myself in her.

I pulled back. I walked out of the room. I locked the door behind me.

They sat in the main room; Mother, Father, Grandfather, Jenna. Sets of eyes turned to me the second I stepped through the door. This was not a family meeting; it was a tribunal, a convention arranged against me before I arrived.

from you, not from anyone in this family. If I hear them, I will forget that you are my elders.”

The room went still.

“Serena is playing games with me.” I breathed through my nose; my chest heaved. “The baby does not belong to anybody else. That child is mine.”

Jenna stepped out from behind Mother. “That’s a lie. Serena told me herself. The baby belongs to Misha, the

doctor she works with.”

Father scoffed. “She couldn’t even find someone better than you. She had to settle for a doctor.”

Grandfather folded his hands in his lap. “If her baby belongs to another man, let her go. This makes the divorce even simpler; she cheated on you, she pays the compensation. The courts will side with us.”

Serena cheating on me was impossible to imagine; the thought did not fit inside my skull, did not sit in my bones, did not belong in any version of reality I recognized. She was too proud, too loyal, too stubborn to giye herself to another man just to wound me.

She said it because she wanted freedom, because she thought the lie would pry my fingers off the marriage.

“I will not listen to anyone who has such things to say about my wife.” I growled; the sound rumbled from my chest, low, dangerous. “I will handle my own matters. I will not divorce Serena.”

I turned, walked out.

I opened the front door of my apartment and stepped inside.

Trevor came down the hallway from the bedroom; his face was a storm, his jaw locked, his fists balled at his sides. He saw me before I saw him; the fury on his face hit me before his voice did.

“What the hell did you do?” He crossed the distance in three strides; his finger jabbed at my chest. “You tied a pregnant woman to a bed, Kieran. A pregnant woman. You left her there for hours without checking if she was eating, drinking, if the blood was flowing to her hands. properly.” His voice shook with rage. “What kind of animal does that?”
