Chapter 106

His eyes burned. “I said, come with me.”

Lucas stepped in again. “She’s staying.”

I reached for Lucas’s arm gently. “It’s okay. I can handle this.”

I turned back to Damian, ready to speak.

But I never got the chance.

He moved fast.

He grabbed me around the waist and, with terrifying ease, lifted me over his shoulder like I weighed nothing.

Gasps filled the room.

“Put me down!” I screamed, hitting his back with my fists. “You’re insane!”

But he didn’t even flinch.

He walked through the ballroom like no one was there. Like nothing could stop him.

And nothing did.

Outside, he opened the door of a sleek black car, shoved me in, then slid in beside me.

The door closed.

The car started moving.

And silence filled the space between us.

I stared out the window. My heart was racing. My breathing felt uneven. I clenched my fists in my lap, trying to calm do

“You can’t just kidnap me,” I snapped.

“I didn’t kidnap you,” he said calmly. “I took what’s mine.”

“I’m not yours, Damian.”

His voice stayed steady. “You always were.”

I didn’t answer. I didn’t know what to say. His words made something stir deep inside me–something I didn’t want to feel

We pulled up outside his mansion.

The same one I hadn’t seen since everything ended between us.

Chapter 106

It looked the same. Grand. Cold. Like it had been waiting, untouched.

We walked inside without a word.

The moment the doors shut behind us, I turned to face him..

“You think you can just take me?” I asked, my voice shaking with emotion. “You think you can show up after everything and pretend nothing happened?”

He stepped forward. “I saved you from being treated like a prize. That place… those men… they don’t see you. They just see something to win.”

“No,” I said. “You couldn’t stand to see me with someone else. That’s all this is.”

His eyes darkened. “You think Lucas cares about you? You’re just leverage to him. Something useful.”

I glared at him. “And what am I to you? A trophy? Something to lock away?”

He didn’t step back.

“You’re everything I’ve been trying to protect,” he said. His voice cracked, just slightly. “Even when you said you needed space. Even when you told me to stay away. I never stopped watching over you.”

1 flinched. His voice carried pain. Truth.

“Damian-”

“I wanted to give you time,” he said. “But seeing you there, dressed like that, surrounded by those wolves… I couldn’t stay away. I won’t.”

I shook my head, swallowing the emotion building in my chest. “You let me go. You let him get close.”

His eyes changed again. Something wild flickered inside.

“I’m not letting anyone else have you.”

Before I could react, he stepped closer. His hands found my waist, pulling me to him.

Then he kissed me.

It was rough. Full of anger. Possession. Longing,

I should’ve pulled away.

But I didn’t.

My hands gripped his jacket. My body leaned into his. The kiss spoke all the words we hadn’t said.

When he finally pulled back, he didn’t move for. He pressed his forehead against mine, breathing hard.

“I warned you,” he whispered. “If I ever got you back…I told you I was going to do it when I was ready……”

His lips moved lower. I felt his breath on my neck.

I gasped, my body arching. My vision blurred.
