The Alpha’s Mafia Luna
Chapter 131
“Damian!”
I was still holding him, my hands trembling where they pressed to his chest. His breath came in short, painful gasps, eyes fluttering shut. The warmth was leaving him, like something invisible was draining the life from his body.
“Someone help me!” I screamed.
The door slammed open.
Mira burst in, barefoot and breathless, her eyes wild. “I heard you–Serene what-”
Her words choked in her throat the moment she saw him on the floor.
“Oh my god.”
She rushed forward, dropping beside us. “What happened?!”
“I don’t know! He just–he was fine–and then-” My voice cracked. “He grabbed his chest and collapsed.”
Mira’s hands hovered, then landed firmly on his neck, checking his pulse. “He’s alive, but it’s faint. What the hell-”
The candles in the room flickered violently.
A soft rasp echoed from behind us.
“I warned you…” a voice said.
I looked up sharply.
The old woman was standing there, the one with the gnarled walking stick and skin like crumpled paper. Her eyes, however, gleamed like polished silver.
“What did you do to him?” I demanded, my voice hoarse and shaking.
“I did nothing,” she said calmly, approaching. “But something was done to him… in the dream.”
Mira’s brows furrowed. “The dream?”
My breath caught. “The poison…”
The old woman nodded. “You saw him fall in that dream realm… stabbed with venom forged in the shadows of Aleoria’s gates. It was no
illusion. That wound did not just exist in the mind–it reached into the soul.”
“But–how can something in a dream affect him physically?” Mira asked.
“Because the girl is more than she seems,” the woman said, pointing a bony finger at me. “She is marked by Aleoria. She has already begun crossing the veil between realms. That poison was meant for him–they were trying to destroy the bond between Serene and Damian. That’s

“” i whispered, turning back to Damian. “No, no, no. Please,”
“If we don’t act fast,” the woman added, “his soul will slip beneath the veil and will not return.”
“What do we do?” Mira asked.
I clutched Damian’s hand tighter. “How do we save him?”
“A ritual,” the woman said simply. “Old magic. But it requires something stronger than spells.”
“What?” Mira asked,
“Willing sacrifice. A bond offering.”
My voice shook, “What does that mean?”
“You must call to him. Not with words, but with everything you are. The bond must pull him back.”
I didn’t hesitate. I nodded. “Tell me what to do.”

She turned to Mira. “Bring the blood basin. And don’t interrupt, no matter what happens.”
As Mira scrambled to obey, the woman began murmuring softly under her breath. She painted runes onto the floor around us using a silvery paste, drawing a circle with looping symbols that shimmered as if alive. Damian’s breathing grew more ragged, sweat running down his neck, lips starting to tint blue.
“Hurry!” I shouted.
The woman grunted. “He’s close to the brink. You must begin.”
She handed me a dagger.
“You’ll need blood to bind the call. Slice your palm. Let it fall into the basin. Then speak his name from the bond.”
I didn’t hesitate. The blade kissed my skin, pain sharp and fast. Blood spilled down my wrist into the crystal bowl. It glowed, reacting to me–to
I closed my eyes.
And I called for him–not just his name, but the feeling of him. His voice in the dark. His hand at my back when I was breaking. His laughter. His strength. The way he looked at me like I was more than a curse.
“Damian,” I whispered, “come back to me.”
The bowl pulsed.
His body jerked.
My heart nearly stopped.

And then-

His whole body arched off the floor, the sound animalistic, inhuman. Like something was being ripped out of him. The runes flared around us.
My hand reached out instinctively.
“I’ve got you,” I said, voice shaking. “I’m right here. I’m not going anywhere.”
His eyes opened wide–gold and blazing–before he collapsed back down, chest rising in shallow gasps.
Silence.
Then the old woman knelt beside him. She pressed two fingers to his temple.
“He’s alive.”
