Chapter 132
The room was quiet.

Only the small candles gave light. They danced a little, making soft shadows on the walls. The air smelled like burnt herbs and something old- magic maybe.
1 sat beside Damian on the bed. He hadn’t moved in hours. His face looked too pale. His lips had no color. His chest moved slowly, like it was hard for him to breathe. I held his hand tight and stared at him like that would make him wake up.
“You scared me,” I said quietly. My voice sounded tired, shaky. “You really scared me, Damian.”
My eyes were wet, but I didn’t let the tears fall. I wasn’t ready to cry. Not yet.
I brushed my thumb over his hand. It was warm. That was a good sign, right? I told myself that meant he was still here.
“You could’ve just stayed awake like everyone else,” I whispered. “But no. You always go and be the hero even in my dreams, and now look at
you–lying here like you’re dead.”
I let out a breath and leaned down, putting my forehead against his hand.
“If you leave me… I don’t know what I’ll do.”
I closed my eyes and kept talking, even though he couldn’t hear me. Or maybe he could.
“You always pretend you’re so strong. You never show pain. You act like nothing bothers you. But I know better. I know when you’re hurting.”
I sniffed and wiped my eyes with the back of my hand. I wasn’t crying. Not really.
“And you’re so smug, too. That little smirk like you know everything. Like you’re smarter than everyone in the room. You’re a smug idiot,
Damian. But you’re my idiot.”
I didn’t even notice the small twitch on his lips.
“If you ever leave me again like that,” I mumbled, “I swear I’ll hit you so hard you’ll-”
“You think I’m smug?”
My heart stopped.
I looked up fast. Damian’s lips were moving. His eyes were opening–slowly–but they were open.
“Wait. What?” I said, blinking like I was seeing things.
He gave a small smile. That same annoying, charming smile I knew too well.
“I’ve been awake for a while,” he said, voice low and rough. “But you were talking so sweet, I didn’t want to interrupt.”
“You” I started, then gasped. “You jerk!”

Chapter 132
Without thinking, I hit his chest lightly.
“Ow!” he groaned, grabbing the spot.
My heart jumped into my throat. “Oh no. Damian–are you okay? I didn’t mean to hurt you–1 swear–I thought you were skay–I’m so sorry-
He groaned again. “Ugh. That punch. I think I’m dying…
I panicked. “Oh god. I’m so stupid–why did I hit you–Damian, please don‘
“Tell my story,” he said, eyes closed, looking so serious,
Then he opened one eye and grinned.
That’s when I realized.
“You’re not serious…” I whispered, staring at him.
“You fell for it,” he said with a weak chuckle.
“You ASSHOLE!”
I smacked his arm again, this time softer. And then I started laughing. I couldn’t help it. It bubbled up with my tears and spilled out.
“You scared me to death and now you’re making jokes?”
“You should’ve seen your face,” he teased. “You looked like you were about to faint.”
“I almost did!” I cried, still laughing and crying at the same time.
He looked at me with soft eyes then. His smile faded just a little. Not gone just gentle now.
“I’m really glad you stayed,” he said.
I nodded, tears still in my eyes. “I wasn’t going anywhere.”
He moved his arm slowly, opening it wide. “Come here.”
I stared at him for a second. Then I gently moved under the covers and curled up beside him. My head rested on his chest, right where I could
hear his heartbeat.
That sound–steady and real–made me feel safe again.
His arms wrapped around me slowly, pulling me closer.
“I thought I lost you,” I whispered, voice small.
“You didn’t,” he replied. “You won’t. I’m yours.”
I looked up at him. “Really?”

I didn’t say anything else. I just laid there with him. Listening to his heartbeat. Feeling his warmth. And for the first time in a while, I didn’t feel scared.
Unknown -Somewhere Far Away
The room was dark. Not the kind of dark you get when lights are off. This darkness was heavy–like shadows that were alive.
There were no candles. Only red lights shining from strange marks on the stone walls, Magic marks.
A big table sat in the middle. Around it stood seven people, all wearing long black robes. Hoods covered their faces.
One of them finally spoke.
“The bond between them is still strong.”
Another answered. “She saved him. The poison didn’t finish its job.”
“That woman–she used old magic. She’s from the lost Order. She should’ve been dead long ago.”
“Clearly she’s not,” someone said, voice full of anger.
Another walked forward and placed their hand over a glowing symbol on the table.
“She’s connected to the boy. And through him… Aleoria is calling her.”
There was silence, Then someone whispered:
her.”
said another. “If he dies, the bond breaks. And without him, she becomes weak.”
she’ll fall apart,” said a voice filled with wicked glee. “Then we can destroy her before she even gets near Aleoria.”
ther figure stepped forward. Their face was half–seen–part shadow, part light. Their mouth twisted into a cold smile.
“Let her come,” they said. “Let her chase her precious light. But when she reaches for it, we will be waiting.”
The others nodded.
Then, in one voice, they all spoke:
“Aleoria must not rise again.”
